  1. I think the young lad in question put up the pics of his dog killing a fox in the snare, which was so stupid especially as he then put a pic up of himself in a different post. Iv said it on various hunting forums, be careful what you post! Unfortunatly some people respond with " its tough luck if antis dont like it stuff em". I understand this point and I never deny what I do, but people must realise how it will be recycled and displayed to the general public with stories about beating hearts falling out! The pics show a captive fox being baited, this is wrong and cannot be condoned. Unfortunatly these idiots dont have a care about protecting or promoteing our sports as alot of them are simply poachers and operate outside of the law anyway so their attitude of showing needless cruelty on forums is understandable as they need an outlet for their bragging and bravado.
  2. Maybe they are diversifying cos of the recession. "FOUR"! BANG!!!
  3. I think the allegation they are trying to make is that he was involved with the lurcher/fox.

Bargain, I would of had em both at that price!
  5. I have new pen sections for sale as iv made more than my requirements, plain ones at twenty pound and gated at twenty five. all are 8x5. Iv also made some 6x4 brooder huts and have one extra one at £200. They are a good bit of kit with slideing vents etc and im really chuffed with em. I will stick some pics up if I can work out how. or email pics if anyones interested.

  7. Dont start on Wilson he was a legend!!! He was my childhood hero. I sent him a letter (I was about 8 at the time!) to see if he wanted to come fishing with me on our local pit and all he sent me was an autograph. Yeah ok he was a ***** I agree!! Robson really got on my nerves when he was fishing at the bottom of Niagra falls, and all he could do was whine like a bored kid because he wasnt catching straight away. If I was the guy who had taken him out I would of thrown him in, ungrateful ***! And if I ever hear the bloke say "yeah man" again i,ll put my foot through the telly.
  8. I thought id failed mine so I just put my foot down to get back to the test centre, I went through lights as they were changing on a couple of occasions and drove like I didnt care, I still passed! Its not as hard as you think, its nervousness and hesitation that make you fail. The exsaminers are wagon drivers themselves so they know what its like on the road. Av the crack with em and go for it.
  9. You can release them into the area they have come from or onto a piece of land where you have the owners permission.
  10. I never understand why people drive up to Arnside from south of Preston when there is better fishing in the Ribble estuary, anywhere from Preston docks to the sea at Lytham. BUT DONT GO NEAR THE RIVER WITHOUT AN ADULT. There are loads of places to fish around Preston, the Lancaster canal is on your door step. Ask in Ted Carters about fishing clubs you could join or maybe try and start a fishing club at school. Fishing on a really local pond is one thing but if your going exploring other waters you will be much safer with a group or an adult.
  11. ****** that!! bad luck them things, i know a chap who shot one and croaked it from a heart attack two days later! superstitious nonsense without a doubt but you wont catch me shooting one. Give us an update in a couple of days so we know your still alive and kicking lol
  12. Landfill sites have a legal responsibility to control them.
  13. You can shoot herring gulls and greater black backs. I used to do them on a landfillsite. The only problem is people tend to phone the old bill when they see you doing it. If your asked to control them I would let the police know and have a copy of the open general licence with you.
  14. Its a pity you couldnt make it to Wales mate we had 5!! Dont think we will be out for foxes again this season unless we get a call out, will be out with the mink hounds soon tho, some times see some terrier work there (only digging rats though )
  15. Looks likeyou could make a fortune mate, even if they dont attract pigeon they will attrct pigeon shooters! Wildfowl decoys are often used in bad weather or fading light so extra size helps to make them stand out, maybe big pigeon decoys would be good on dull/windydays.
  16. You have nearly as many different rods and reels as you have fish! Well done mate thats a live times worth of fish for me. I go to scotland every year but always seem to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Think I need more local knowledge!, I'll await my invite to come and fish Bishop Auckland with the expert!!!
  17. https://www.theflatpack.co.uk/merchantmanag...dex.php?cPath=3 - 29k Hope iv posted this link correctly! Try this place for traps, British made, small family run rural bussiness, some off the best tunnel traps around.
  18. The aircraft involved have been following hunts since before Christmas, at first people thought it was paranoia but nw we know it most certainly isnt. The man was a local gardener and a regular with the Warickshire hunt. My thoughts are with his family and the Warickshire hunting community.
  19. Some people dont read a post before replying to it! I said do we slag off WILDFOWLING when a cowboy does something wrong! No we criticize the INDIVIDUAL concerned! Most hunts are well run, in all my years hunting and working within hunting I can count on one hand the times we run on to private land and Ive always do my upmost to gather hounds quickly and put things right. It would be impossible to count the number of times iv seen shoots over step the mark with regard to boundaries, does this mean I would criticize game shooting as awhole, NO, if the individuals concerned were caught then they are to blame not the sport. Sorry if individuls have had bad experiences with their local hunt but its not indicative of hunting in general. Remember there are dozens of farmers packs out there and one I hunt with is followed on foot and started and run by keepers and farmers.
  20. Er no im not, iv spent all my working life in hunt service, gamekeeping and pest control. Read my post again mate, if I was LACS would I be surgesting stopping squabbleing on a public forum, the LACS who we know read this will be ******* themselves. There are good and bad elements in every aspect of fieldsports but its useless to tar everyone from that sport with the same brush. Do we openly critise partridge shooting when one keeper is caught releasing partridges on a shoot day? Do we slag off wildfowlers when some cow boys shoot a swan? Lets leave that to the media and our legions of bigoted, predudiced enemys who will never be satisfied until we are forced to live by their morals and rules.
  21. Yes I definatly agree! Maybe we need a forum rule /agreement not to discuss in public any differences between various fieldsports. Antis read this and are no doubt loving it (if not taking part in the discussion already!).
  22. Hunts releasing animals for sport? thats surley not right! PHEASANT PLUCKER will be releaseing birds to shoot next! Where will it stop?? Grow up and slag each other off down the pub not on a public forum!
  23. Anti hunting groups and new labour especially have tried to drive a wedge between shooters and hunting people. I agree with free and open discussion but it seems there are some people on here that think their own sport is 'fair' and 'sporting' but sod other peoples. If a fox is killed by hounds then there is a good chance it is old or weak, therefore it is good that it is killed as that represents what happens in nature. If a fox is run to ground and a keeper or farmer insists it is killed then useing terriers is the only way to locate and kill it. Most terrier men are professional in their work tho there are always bad apples in all aspects of our sports. You say its ok to bolt foxes to a gun but not to dig down, what happends if the fox dosnt bolt?? Iv seen more foxes wounded by shotguns then iv ever seen suffer unnesserserly by terrier work. If you dont agree with it fair enough but remember the people who campain against it will never be apesed until all fieldsports are banned. Is it a sport? Well iv just spent a morning hunting foxes with terriers in a big rock pile and I believe it was more sporting than putting a fox in a cross hairs and pulling a trigger. But thats just my opinion, you have your own, maybe you would do well not to voice them until they are backed up by some sort of experience.
  24. As I said, I set a a lot of traps, not saying im an expert but I make half a living from it. I think that finding the correct run and settin the trap firmly so there is no movment in the trap is more important than sent. Also as many experiments with new traps and traps with sent addded verses old dirty soil covered traps leads me to belive that sent isnt a major factor. Remember than moles also push soil ahead of them so sometimes they will spring traps and not get caught.
