Imperfection
What would it have been used for originally? The recoil looks to be massive!
Tiff-TRG
I can't help feel a little bit mad when I see this video.. The gun handling is simply terrible!!!
Baldrick
What would it have been used for originally? The recoil looks to be massive! Giles Whitmore (?) built the 4-Bore Mastodon and the 2-bore Leviathan as exhibits for the Royal Armouries, I recall. Black-powder rifles of that calibre were used in Africa. I'd far rather take a double .470NE than a 26lb falling-block hammer action 2-bore when stopping a charge. Century Arms make a slightly more practical 4-bore, should you be in the market: http://www.centuryarms.com.au/docs/4bore.html

seb
I visited Westley Richards in Birmingham who still make 2 bore rifles though the market is overseas now. They had some beautiful guns there and I got a guided tour of the new workshops and saw them being made by hand. The showroom was amazing, loads of old items and big African animal mounts on the walls. I was shown the gun room and got to hold the biggest 2 bore rifle I have ever seen, it was really heavy to cope with the recoil but I cant remember the calibre. It was for shooting animals like elephants and buffalo.
