GW80
does anyone know a good place for rabbit in antrim or down Forget about rabbits about where i am in co.down, i shot 2 all year. The only bit of sport i got on the rabbits this year was at a farm in Dungiven, the place was like watership down!
GW80
a poor finish to the season for me, went out early on saturday morning and got a shot at a mallard which i missed and nothing else came in. in the afternoon headed out over the fields and got 2 pigeons, while i was out a caught a glimpse of 2 foxes crossing about 2 fields away, headed up on saturday night about 8pm with the lamp and spotted 1 of them with the beam and tried to call him, he stopped and showed a bit of interest but just would come in any closer, sooner the .222 is here the better!!! Dr D
did a spot of vermin control this morning for a local farmer. Never seen so many magpies and starlings. got 7 magpies with the .22 in 1.5hrs and goodness knows how many starlings. there are thousands of ******* in the sheds. watching a few piegons on potatoes at the moment as well so fingers crossed for bit a wind this weekend and hopefully the local estates will be at them to keep them on the move. Dr D
had a scout around this morning. It was bit misty and no wind to speak of. manage to get a couple of pigeon. not the best of days for it.
Gareth_Northern Ireland
a field down the road from me was full of pigeons didnt bother with it i would say 1 shot and you wouldnt see them for the rest of the day lol
Dr D
yep, same here. saw a field that was blue with them, but without the wind it would be case of BANG! see ya later. the couple I did get where coming into a sitty tree. waste of time on the fields at the moment. Once the barley starts going in, it should be good, if the birds hang around.
