tikkamark
Tuesday January 20th He'd spotted another fox above us again about a hundred yards off. I had a look at the area through the scope as I couldn't see any eye and I spy a lovely coloured fox curled up snoozing in the shelter of a high wall and under a gorse bush. Nice place to be, unfortunately for him it was the wrong time to be there. I can just picture that scene...you a lucky man to have the landscape you have to shoot over Great write up and shooting I got out last friday nite solo...had a really good night i seen 6 in the one area i was in,i managed to drop 2 vixens one at 90yrds and another across a river out in amongst a load of sheep at 170yrds then to cap a good night off i managed an unfortunate bunny at 180yrds all were hit spot on with american eagles i was delighted I only managed to pick the tail of the vixen across the river there last night...i seen 3 foxes on the short walk from the car to the fox but didnt have the gun with me!Definitly have to get out tomorrow night again-weather permitting! Blackbart
Nice write up as usual john.I too like the sound of your scenery, but i bet it can be rough weather that near the coast. I got my longest the other night at a measured 278 yards. He was watching 3 hares chasing each other round a field and was not interested in any call i offered.Hit him square in the bottom jaw(which was a bit lucky as i was aiming at his chest )The bullet went through jaw and into the base of neck/head.He just lay down and never moved a jot. Also last night i seen two tied together and another one about 30 feet away watching I was thinking about a january offer of two for one but when i ranged them they were 430 yards away !and i had to go miles around to get closer,so in the end i did the pervy thing and just watched them at it through the scope. When they finished they played a bit and then wandered over the hill, followed by the other one looking for sloppy seconds i think.
