Imperfection
You'll need: Shotgun Cartridges (30/32gm 6's) Decoys (flocked are best and 12 is a good amount) Camoflaged hide Something to sit on and Patience... This time of year, they're after winter rape and best time i've personally found is early afternoon, but do check out where you plan to shoot beforehand to learn when they're feeding.Price wise-whats your budget? Try PW's sponsor here cos they do good deals.
Cranfield
There are a lot of questions in your post and the (different) answers could fill a book. To start you need a gun and cartridges. Camouflage hide netting and adjustable hide poles. A quantity of pigeon decoys, I would recommend flocked shells. A floater/bouncer or two. A shooting seat. Later you could add a rotary, perhaps a flapper and more decoys. You can shoot pigeons all the year round and observation will tell you where to shoot them. Its best to shoot them where they are feeding and the best times will be when you observe them feeding. Shooting them as they go to roost is also productive, in the months there are no leaves on the trees. That is a very brief answer.

malkiserow
I know exactly what you mean. I also find that when I stand up to go out of the hide then come in. I do believe we now have conclusive evidence that pigeons are irresistibly attracted to the fresh aroma of coffee. Throw away your magnets and flappers lads LOL
