Hodmedod.one
Shot these two on Saturday the 10th Jan. Parked up and started walking down a short track on the farm. About 100yds away from where we parked there are some horse paddocks where we have seen foxes before. There was nothing on there. We continued walking to the end of the track and then walked around the edge of a small wood which is about 75yds wide and 200yds long. From the end of the wood it is about 100yds back to the horse paddocks. ***** shone the lamp across the paddocks and there was Charlie sat looking at us! He went down to a full-frontal chest shot from about 80yds. A 75gn .243 ballistic tip sorted him out. I would say he was probably one of last years cubs. We drove off and had a look around another part of the farm. We did see a fox working its way along a dry ditch but as soon as we lamped it, it was away. We returned to the horse paddocks after about 45mins and walked exactly the same route. After walking down one side of the wood and across the end, ***** shone the lamp across the field which was part stubble, part ploughed. Right on the edge of the stubble and about 30 yds from the wood was a Fox. We got the sticks/rifle set up and lamped him again. He looked at us and started to walk towards the wood. I thought he was going for the wood, but he went a few feet and then lay down! A side on chest shot, about 80yds again. A BIG old dog fox. I weighed him later and he went 27lbs! Hodmedod.one
a fox at 38lbs as boon shot!!! pics on anotha sight!!!! its a monster!!!!! In the June 08 edition of Sporting Rifle there was an article about Mark Taylor from Wigan shooting a 33.5 pounder. There is a mention in the same article of a 34 pounder being shot somewhere in Scotland. Are there any pictures circulating of the 38 pounder?
