This is the 8th since jan 1st and she was taken in almost exactly the same spot as number 1 and followed a similar track. She was in the stubble field when i first spotted her but she made off onto the river bank and tall grass. She then offered fleeting glances of eyes through the grass until she finally appearing in a clearing, when i looked through the scope i could only see her head and wasnt sure which way she was standing so decided to take a head shot as it was only about 80 yards away and as you can see the shot was good.It turned out to be 76 yards and a very clean kill.

Cheers,

I wasnt such a clever cloggs tonight.I have just come back in and had a mare ! First of all the lad who normally goes with me,couldnt..so i thought i would ask on here,no-one replied....then i thought i will just go out by myself.30 seconds after turning the lamp on there was charlie, very first field.I get out the truck, bipod on bonnet, flick the switch on the scope mounted lamp, complete white out couldnt see a thing through the scope. It is the first time i have tried the lamp on the 22-250 and the lamp was coming back of the stainless mod.I looked for something to cover the mod but there was nothing in the truck.I took the mod off,and all this time charlie was sitting probably bemused watching me.I put the lamp on him again just as he sauntered through the hedge.

About 5 mile up the road i spy eyes and again gun on bonnet and this time i see him,he is curled up having a snooze with the occasional look at me,only 120 yards away.I lined him up and "boom".....clean miss ??it didnt hang around.

Another mile down the valley and there is one in the stubble and he kindly sits face on,again about 120 yards way, again line him up"boom"....clean miss,he walks about 10 yards away and i have another go...clean miss.

Of course if i had my brain in gear i would have checked the zero after taking the mod off and not after scaring the living daylights out of 2 now hard to get foxes. The gun shoots 6" high and a bit right with the mod off at 100yds as i found out later.

peeeeeeed off.
