swiftnbold
Hiya folks, Joined the forum as I'm working on my first permission (golf course, well it will be, more like the Somme right now). Been shooting on and off since 1982 and I'm a Woolyback ex-Scouser convert ( it'll make sense to those up here) living in St Helens. Look forward to the banter - oh and bringing down the obscene number of pigeons currently "giving it large"

swiftnbold
lar Puts me in mind of that classic line from the Black Stuff - Alan Beasdales original play about the tarmac gang from Liverpool who go to Middlesborough to do a job. Having decided to form their own company they try to come up with a name - can't remember which character it is but he blurts out ... "I've gor it - how about Tar-Lar" - brilliant Bleasdale then went on to do "The Boys From The Blackstuff" more about the dark days of the early 80's and Thatcherism. Maybe they should lock Brown, Darling et al in a room and make them watch that show over and over again - mind you do they ever learn Cheers to all

swiftnbold
From scouser land eh? suprised there are many pigeons about up that way, suprised they haven't all been nicked! Or their legs removed and the pigeons up on bricks You did say you "were looking forward to the banter" only joking mate, welcome. Cheers again You'd be amazed at just how bad the pigeon situation is - I drive from St Helens to Ormskirk Lancs each day and must pass hundreds and hundreds of small flocks leaving their roosts. We've actually a lot of very flat (its old seabed) arable farmland up here that stretches across towards Southport. Worse still currently are the huge flocks of canada geese that are swarming around - it's enough to drive a man mad
