My local Gunshop does not have any and I will be buying mail order sight unseen. Deako, any experience of N&S Shooting Supplies versions ? Deako Posted April 28, 2002 Report Share Posted April 28, 2002 Definately the best floaters I have used are the pinewood ones,extendable to roughly 5 foot.The crocodile clips for securing the wings are very good and they have a spade welded on the end to stop the thing twisting in soft ground. Two piece is £10.00. It makes you wonder just how much that spade bit is worth. Perhaps you should mention it to Mike Newall. Any other ideas ? My mates and I have made various floaters, cradles, flappers, rotary devices and even decoys over the years. Not all of 'em worked!!!!!!!!!!! But I find it very satisfying to bag woodpigeons by fooling them with my own creations. It's certainly cheaper! His lads shoot pigeons & were impressed with how the magnet worked, when I shot his land last year. He took me into one of the workshops & showed me his home made magnet, & it was very good. He also showed me an electronic flapper , which he had made, using a rear screen wiper motor. I was impressed. Neadless to say, he now has another one to make..........for me!
