I bought a scope + Rings + flip up covers off opticswarehouse. The rings and the back flip up cover have come this morning but not the scope or the front flip up covers.

Btw I thought the flip ups would come together, the front bigger one is coming right ? :good: Anyways do you reckon the scope will just come tomorrow ? :P

I sure hope so :P Can't wait to get out with the 17

On the form they have written next to the scope "sent direct" :P

Hi mate. That's unusual for this firm. I hve had scopes off them a few times. in fact, I bought one for my BRNO a few weeks ago. I had the scope, mounts and flip up covers the same time. The front cover was too big, but that's another story. Give them a ring today, if possible, and ask them when you'll get the scope.

Give me a ring/PM when you want to zero it. I have the perfect place to do it.

Correct. There is no telephone number on their website, surprisingly. I'll see if I can find the receipt for the scope and PM you the number.

'Sent Direct' could mean that they don't have the scope in stock and it will be sent to you from the manufacturer.

sent direct means they didn't have it in stock. It is sent direct from the manufacturer (drop shipped). Probably the same for the missing cover. They didn't have eithe rin stock, so they are having the manufacturer drop ship it to you.

Drop shipping is a way that internet companies can maintain limited inventory (thus low warehousing space required and low stock on the books) yet advertise large quantities of goods for sale ready to be shipped. Ready to ship doesn't mean they have it in hand. It means that they are ready to have the manufacturer ship it. The problem with drop shipping is that they assume the manu has it in stock. It also means that there are multiple shipments. And, the store can't guarantee the quality before it ships.

It is a common thing in fishing rod building components. It isn't good for service, but it makes for impressive looking storefronts on the web.

Thanks

Rick
