Andy H
Try vectan powders The tubal series ,They should be less than £30-00 for 1/2 a kilo and you can download the full reloading charts from peter lawman in his vectan powders section. Vince Green
You can buy a bit cheaper from Pete Lawman or Kranks but by the time you pay postage there is nothing in it.
casts_by_fly
Last I was in Duncans (Hull) I paid £28 for a pound of H4198. Most everything he had was marked £25-£30. Don't know if it was old stock and old prices or what. Thanks, Rick

TheHunter
Sorry miniwizard, assumptions can go wrong. OK I use Forest Lodge Guns in Wragby just outside Lincoln. I would say that their prices look in between the ones posted so far and could save you a trip to Northampton. The place is so good you could spend the day there just talking reloading with people that are as enthusiastic on the subject as we are. Give them a ring on 01673 858 554, there is Colin, Matt and Chris. PS this is not a sponsored link LOL, I really do rate them over all RFD's in our area. Vince Green
Just a point but one I think is important. In South Ruislip near where I live was a large fishing tackle shop, double shop in fact. People used to come from all over to go there. Last year it closed down, a victim I am told of all the cheaper fishing gear being sold on the internet. Do you really use that much powder that buying it on the internet will save you bundles? If you have a local gunshop you should support it.

I cant deal with them, unless you pay the price on the shelf and are more than happy to listen to the drivel they come out with about `who they know and who they go shooting with and on and on n on.... Phoned up about buying 2 x sako quads (1 for myself and one for my dad) he told me he could do a good deal for 2.... but his old stock on the shelf at old prices, was more than a bloke only a few miles down the road who would order them in at the new price.....When I said I could get a better deal and would he be interested in matching or trying to beat it he got very rude and offensive. Obviously I didn`t buy a rifle from him. I have since spoke to a few people and they have had bad expeirences with them! TheHunter
Miniwizard I should ignore the entry from vmobiler1 as none of the dealers he listed sell powder (a slight floor as the topic heading is POWDER). Forest Lodge is your best bet. They do have a habit of spotting fools though. Edited March 17, 2009 by TheHunter

NO, as i was just giving my thought on what others have said ! They must be able to spot a fool if you pay their prices ha ha ha . . . They missed out on gun sales and we all saved£££ oh how silly we feel lol Thefool should be your name not TheHunter Edited March 17, 2009 by vmobiler1
miniwizard
i do support my local gun shop, but when i walked away £87 lighter the other day with a pound of powder 200 bullet heads and 400 primers,i got to thinking, i hav'nt been reloading now for 20 years,so it came as a great shock to me, i will buy powder in bulk to save money as i want to shoot my guns more, sadly gun shops in this country are all dying and you have to drive along way to find a good one,my local only has a handfull of rifles in stock, and he's getting out of reloading as he says its not worth the bother as nobody reloads anymore,i think he's wrong, and i think its getting more popular.... TheHunter
Sorry vmobiler1, I didn’t realize you were so insecure. “They do have a habit of spotting fools though†was a general statement and not aimed at you.
The Burpster
To play Devils Advocate, I buy my reloading bits from FL Guns as its handy. I'm not really on a budget when it comes to reloading so I pay thier going rate. You CAN get in and out quickly if you are regular enough, and have patience. There really is no sensible altenative in mid-Lincs for re-loaders as nowhere else really has a selection. MGR guns is now in a new phase as its no longer owned or run by Mr Olivant - a man I wouldn't pay with rusty washers and wouldn't trust to look after a rusty shopping trolley - the reason for this is that he was passing of grey imports as UK guns. Derek Lee will pretty much always be in a position to undercut FLG for gun prices as he shifts so many he can give very competetive prices (this does not normally go down very well with FLG), but Derek has no desire to get into reloading gear but will if you ask him very nicely get bits to order. TheFool, Yes it was aimed at me. Oh and I do have massive insecurities with people with the vast and superior knowledge as yourself. But I will accept your apology. marky123
Hello FLG may not be the cheapest but he does have a good selection of centerfire components,I bet there isnt another place in Lincolnshire where you can walk in and get a simple reloading part off the shelf(lee 243 pilot and stud) especially since Dave Shaw packed up. I thought he sold his business to Crawfords???I presume they are the dealers local to miniwizard who are getting out of the reloading game as'no-one reloads any more'.I think this is more likely that serious customers.ie those that want a specific product as opposed to those that will buy whatever's on the shelf are staying away from them in droves. Mind you,one of my friends who purchased a brand new rifle from them and eventually collected it some months later might have another opinion on that.
