rjimmer
I was told that the Sportsman Gun Centre and Litt's have joined forces to form the biggest retailer of guns in the UK. Bigger than importer GMK even. Anybody else heard the same story?
Cranfield
Jim, is this the Sportsman Gun Centre in Devon ? I haven't heard of any merger, but I did hear that Litts might become the main Beretta Importer in the UK.
Catamong
RJ, I reckon you're about right on this one, on page 54 of the April edition of "Pull" magazine, (for CPSA members), they have a combined ad, and yes, it is the Sportsman Gun Centre in Paignton, Devon. I'm not sure about them becoming the biggest Beretta dealer in the UK, it would take quite a bit of effort to dislodge Chris Potter Guns from that slot. rjimmer
Cranfield, they also have a shop at Southern Counties Shooting Ground, Warden Hill, as well as Paignton. People who have travelled the A37 between Yeovil and Dorchester will remember the Clay Pigeon Cafe at Warden Hill. Don't know anything about Beretta sales but they reckon their retail turnover will be bigger than GMKs imports.
dodeer
Wardon Hill are expanding to accomadate more shotguns in the near future ( not sure if its done already) and want to stock over 1000 shotguns.
Ears
I remember the Clay Pigeon Cafe very well. I can even remember a snooker room in the clay ground with full size tables. Dont know if they are there now. I shot the English open sporting there a few years ago now, but did not go inside the building on that day to see if it was the same. Good shooting ground though and great to see it still going.

rjimmer
Whether the gunshop will still be there in a while no-one knows! Nice to have inside knowledge being in the trade! Careful what you say about other peoples' business, Sam!
