magnamaniac
Hi, Well wanted to know if there was a reliable one stop shop for reloading supplies in Kent. I currently use Pantiles Vintage Guns & Countryways, but they only do some not all, and it would save my carbon footprint if there was one shop I could use. Also i'd love some good 3" cartridge recipies, I have access to the B&P hulls but have nothing to use them on ? Woody

Rem223
I use Wilson & Wilson in Ramsgate, Peter is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to reloading, is he any good for you? He does keep a good stock of gear, but be prepared for a lot of chat and whatever you do don't ask about the tank he keeps out the back or you may be there for a long time
CZ550Kevlar
Lol, Peter has the best range of reloading gear in Kent, possibly further and has a reputation for having an immense ammount of knowledge, he stocks only the best stuff and will try and sell you the more expensive equipment, this is only because it`s the best equipment, he`ll sell you cheap but he`ll tell you in the next breath what it will cost you in the long run. Sometimes he can seem abit abrupt but look through this and bear with him and you really won`t go far wrong, he is also known for stocking a good range of factory ammo, rimfire and centrefire. John_reloader
Hi Woody, Not been to Peter Wilson for a while now but I thing you are looking to reload shot gun cartridges and I suspect Peter has little to offer you. I have been reloading 12 and 20 bore for some ten years now, use MEC and Dillon equipment. You need to try Clay and Game Reloading, Ian has many years experience in supplying equipment and components only down side is he is getting expensive (delivery around £20 now). I also buy for abroad some items. Powder and primers are getting expensive. Gamebore used to sell “cut-offs†reject cartridges. These contained a primer and powder – about 3000 for £20 - this made reloading very cheap with home made shot about £40 per 1000. It took time to recover the primer and powder – but hey it is rewarding breaking clays or killing pigeons with you own cartridges and at £40/1000 when shop prices are £140 plus. The cut-offs were a best kept secret within the reloading community. But Ian at Clay and Game reloading found out and got Gamebore to stop selling them (suspect that he buys some of his components from them to sell, they share a stand at the Midlands game fare) – said it was dangerous but it was not when you looked at it Gamebore use mainly UEE powder so using the web it was not difficult to identify the powders and work out a load etc. Have tried recently to buy in bulk from the manufactures but so far none will reply or help, they choose only to supply cartridge manufactures – I guess to hide the cost of components to keep their profits hidden from us. After all if they could “throw away†rejects in the quantity they did, for £20 what price are they to them ? Most if not all UK cartridge manufacture are owned by large (very large) foreign companies e.g. eley by UEE (also own Rio), Gamebore by the Americans etc Shot shell reloading in this country is very limited due to the lack of component suppliers and hence competition – It now costs around £100 per 1000 to DIY. You also need to make your own shot - you can make good shot the equal of commercial shot but that’s another story – took me about six years to get the shot making system I now have. I live in Kent and reload for clay and pigeon shooting (together with a friend) – if you need help or want to share the delivery on components let me know. Sorry for the long post. John. John_reloader
Hi Woody, I reload mainly 12gauge and some 20gauge and live in South East Kent. Used MEC press for some 6 years plus now have a Dillon. Obtaining components is getting harder and more expensivem, making my own shot gives me clay cartridges or pigeon at about £95 per 1000 for fiber wads. Regards John.
