Bunny-Blaster
The Deerhunter Ram jacket and trousers are a top bit of kit... Waterproof, breathable and silent.....Loads of pockets including a large rear "poacher" pocket ideal for dog training dummies etc with zip closures and storm flaps...not to mention a paded seat to sit on built in to the back of the coat to stop the "farmer giles" popping out :yp: while ya sat in the cold and damp for long periods... If you look round they have just changed their design from Advantage Timber to "APG" so many places are selling off the Advantage Timber stuff cheap to make way for the new "APG" stuff....so some great bargains are to be had. Deerhunter after sales service is great too....I just had my zip repaired FOC on a 16 month old jacket! In my oppinion the Advantage Timber is a great all round pattern and colour. This said.....to be honest as long as what you wear breaks up your outline and keeps you warm n dry then your laughing....I think too much value is placed in a lot of these "real tree" style patterns as you only have to look at the American hunters.... they wear day glow orange jackets with a camo patern to break up the outline... for the quarry not to see them but humans can see it for safety... In my oppinion this just reinforces the fact that most quarry species are colour blind and you just need to break up your outline. However..... I do believe that you get what you pay for quality wise and Deerhunter kit is excellent quality for the money and will last you years. This might be worth a look: http://www.fishermanstacklecompany.co.uk/i...id=1784534_8065 Let us know how you get on. Windy
Picked up a Jack Pyke english oak cam smock at the Suffolk show today - £35 (cheapest I found online was £45). Chap also had the hunter field jacket at £35 as well (online £55). This version has a detachable lining, but was XL. Otherwise would have had that. I like lightweight, so am loving the smock..ripstop fabric and loads of pockets.
malkiserow
I still use my DPM 95 army jacket, brilliant bit of kit, if it is raining put an army gortex underneath it - yes i really do meant this way around, it protects the gortex from thorns etc get both for under £20 and lots of the time just use the cotton one with more pocket than you can shake a stick at... only down side is the people who think you are a sad wannabe military

Jim Sarakun
For about 35 squid, you can get from fleabay a Dutch cammo jacket with a button in gortex liner and a button in fleece, making it a multi season jacket, with change to spend on cartridges. Maybe not very fashionable but perfect for shooting and it will very likely outlast that designer gear to boot.
THEINVISIBLESCARECROW
With so many patterns out there are you sure you will get the right one ? Timber, bark, wetlands, realtree, mossy oak & so on & on & on & on & on & on & on & on. I use an old battered wax jacket from a boot sale with ex army olive green trousers. Total cost under a tenner, add good gloves & face mask. I can lean up against a tree, stand in front of a holly bush, get in amongst some gorse, sit in a hawthorn hedge or bracken, spring, autumn or winter with the different colours each season brings. Carefull what pattern you use, unless your behind a hide net, perhaps you can get one the same ? Do I like modern patterns, yes, would I buy one, yes, would I spend more than a tenner, no. Would I get a better result if I did, doubt it, I've been out with mates & seen them hide in a bush. That's another subject, stealth, now that stuff, if only you could buy it, oh sorry, I forgot, you can, just buy the modern patterns for lots of money & you instantly disapear. I really must get some. I want the pattern I can lean against a tree, stand in front of a holly bush, get in amongst some gorse & sit in a hawthorn hedge or bracken in spring, autumn or winter. So what pattern looks like a mud splatted, grass stained weird coloured dull brownish/greenish type of natural out in the woods & fields colour ? also waterproof, thorn & barbed wire proof coat that's warm with plenty of pockets & quiet when you move..
