Cushat
yeah thats what i was thinking, When is the best time for rabbits i've always thought early mornings or evenings? I'd suggest that if you're lamping them then sometime when it's dark would be a start

Spaniel
only been out once rabbiting, but we went between 8pm and mid night last weekend and seen loads of them. Used the lamp to spot them, then tuned it off and moved closer, they never moved to be honest. put the lamp on dim and when i was ready to shoot, the lamp was brightened to assist me with my shot.. hope this helps in some way

bunnybasher100
one of the best times i have found to go lamping or out with NV is after a rainy day, because rabbits get all the moisture from there food they seem to thrive on the extra moisture on the grass. BB top tip

bigstevouk
Some times it's better to get there a bit early, set up about dusk say 7.30pm and sit and wait...... you'll be surprised even walking around the rabbits get spooked
hodge911
i'm the only shooter only shooter with permission ? i,ve been laid up from shooting for a few weeks after an op on my shoulder but took the pup to the farm i have permission on a few times . there,s an old caravan in an adjoining field which can only be seen from the field on my permission as long as iv,e had permission on my land has had two bullet holes in it anyway like i said took the pup for a wander round and the caravan is now riddled with holes took myself off to farm house to let farmer know it wasn,t me that had made them as you all know it,s hard to get permission and easy to loose it anyway farmer said he had seen a lamp on the fields a few times over the last couple of weeks but just thought it was me , so after a chat we decieded that i would let him know when i was going up threw the night and if he sees a lamp and i haven,t been in touch he,s going to call the police as they shouldn,t be there . Billy.
You'll shoot ten times more if you go by car. They're never really fussed about cars, but they'll run a mile when a silhouette of you. Avoid clear nights on foot. You've got no chance.
