rjimmer
That would have been later than " Muffin The Mule " wouldn't it? Isn't that a sex offence?
rjimmer
Remember the outcry when Smiths Crisps went from 3d to 4d? Only 3 bags for a shilling(5p), instead of 4!
ernyha
That would have been later than " Muffin The Mule " wouldn't it? Isn't that a sex offence? It might well be now but it wasn't such a politically correct world we lived in then.
feather
How about, "Childrens Hour", with uncle Mac and the "Fortynine Steps","Lost in space" all on the radio, no TV in those days. Best regards, Feather.
coney hunter
To say that a bag of crisps was a shilling then but now 30p means that its gone up 25p in 40 years doesn’t seem bad to me. Only a young one my self at seventeen but am I right in saying that people are much more well off now than they were 40-50 years ago. ernyha
If you look at the post again, rjimmer was bemoaning the fact that the price rise meant that we only got 3 packets for a shilling instead of 4.

PEREGRINE
What about the Chopper bike, and going down the hill on a book and skate before some wise **** made them into skateboards, pathfinder shoes with the compass in the heel and the duffel coat your mother made you wear. Being sent to the headmaster for the slipper was a real punishment and your parents didn't sue him, wonder how teenagers of today would have copped with life back then. They are missing a lot , great days wandering the fields with your catapult looking for small birds to feed your Kestrel on, "sigh" happy days.
