deny essex
Went out for the day over one of my permissions with a member of PW, we sat all day come rain or shine in a ditch, the birds were not interested the 6 that were around, how things can change from the several hundred easily to be seen last week on any field. But none the less enjoyed the good company of Cosd and he at least did not blank with 1 bird for the pot, short of me slipping and sitting in the middle of a nettle patch, we enjoyed the day but slightly soggy and an itchy butt when we got back to the motors. We will do it again soon Cos with hopefully better results!
Cosd
Want to thank Denny for the day out. Pigeons were all on a day off yesterday, hardly saw anything in the air. It wasn't like they didn't want to play, they were just non existant. We drove around a few farms and they were all quiet so we settled on what looked to be the best of a bad bunch on a spot Denny knew well. Weather didn't help either! Company was great though and Denny is a gentleman. Picked his brain all day for knowledge and learned a lot. Shame we couldn't put the theory to the test yesterday but I'm sure we will do it again on another. Numbers aside, I still enjoyed a day out in the fields, we talked and we laughed with Denny offering some funny moments trying to balance in his chair in a muddy ditch. Thanks mate

Topgunners
Went out saturday for a recce on a number of pea felds and not a pigeon in site, on all bar one field. Spotted a dozen or so flitting about and decided to set up some deeks. Very slow before the first bird was shot and then steady for the next 3 hours and had a bigger bag than we expected. Shot 51 and picked up 45 pigeons. 6 that had dropped in to fields behind us. free meals for some Basil's. Dave K
