Farma Geddon
Took an American friend out today on peas.Set him up and left him while I went over the other side of the field .He had 26 and reckons he would have lots more if it wasn't for the (insert makers name here) shells!! I always seem to give my best days away!! P.S He had more than 100 shots. :*) Farmageddon
Axel
Not too many pigeons in evidence in this neck of the woods (south & west of Cambridge City). I'm out 1/2 pw doing recces but apart from some on the peas, there are not that many to be seen. I've got 110 so far this year, on peas or flighting but its been hard work all the way e.g. 8's, 10's, 15's etc. I keep hoping I'll have one really busy day but the pigeons which are still around, seem to be the clever **** which know it doesnt pay to visit the same field too often! Plus, I think many of them are now back in the woods on the buds and florets, so it wont get much better just yet I suspect. Good shooting!! Axel. M ROBSON
One of our farms has still got a few fields of Barley to drill but all the rest are all done. Saw quite a few hitting a veg field this morning. There's also a lot of interest in our game crop. Mark.

Highlander
Dunno what's happened to all the pigeons round here (East Anglia) gone on hols I reckon. We've a lot of rape and wheat that's way too high now and only other crop they've really got much of is peas which should be pulling them but aren't. The ones we're seeing seem to be paired up and more interested in sex than much else. BUT we've got lots of bunnies.
Fisherman Mike
Ive seen a good few pigeons on the borders of flowering rape locally or where it has been a bit patchy in groups of 10 to a dozen or so. The late drilled barley has not been touched and when you look at the field after drilling the only spillage is where the grain bags are split and loaded on the seed hopper. Talking to one of the local Farmers he says since the introduction of the efficient seed drills in the last 10 to 15 years pigeons mopping up the spilled seed have been almost non existant. he doesnt grow rape, peas or beans but he is going to seed some of his pasture with clover next year for a nitrogen fix so that could provide some sport Plenty of Birds in the woods nearby... The males cooing incescently all day and into dusk. Have seen a few birds on grass land but only in 3,s & 4,s FM.
HAMMY
Just got back to China from 9 days back home, knackered. Bloody weather, bloody Pigeons, I missed the drillings by about a week but got round all my farms and had a chat with all the farmers, only big numbers have apparantly been on my biggest land in Lanarkshire, D & G very poor spoke to a lot of shooters no one making big bags and pigeons still flocked up, I had about 300 taking the **** out of me between two of my permissions. Weather was bloody awful also. Had a couple of short sessions in between the rain biggest bag 51, mostly crows and another couple of modest bags. But nice to get out, had a cracking day driving Foxes on the shoot I keepered b4 coming to China, got 7 from 8, 2 to my own gun. No cubs about yet, but shall be any day.Tidied up the Corbies on the shoot also, the vermin I hate most! :< FM, Spent a day looking round for the Binos, looked through a lot, and you were right the Swarovski's are different class, I opted for the 8 x 32 EL's, and am really chuffed with them, the 8.5 x 42's were great but just a little bulky for my purpose. Had them out immedietly and spent some time watching the Fallow on my shoot and some Red Squirrels (that spelling doesn't look correct) and loads of wild birds, it was great to be back home and enjoy the countryside again. Thanks to all for the help. Oh, and on Swallows, my annual visitor coincided with my return home, arrived on the wires behind my house 6th May, 1 day later than last year. Hammy Thanks for the Feedback Hammy... Its nice to know that someone who takes our advice is pleased with the results... As you now know the Swarovski bins are a class above many and will see (excuse the pun  ) you in good stead for many years... Cheers. FM. M ROBSON
I put pigeons off 3 different stubble fields last night, the most numbered about 200, there is a lot of weed starting to come through on them. Also put 50+ off a Broccolli field where I shot a Hare. Mark.
