Jan147
Has anyone bought a LH shotgun and then got it converted/cast to a RH by a gunsmith. Anyone got any experience of this?
Harnser
I have never had it done ,but it is quite a simple job done by a good gunsmith . Harnser .
groach1234
As a lefty, I have had a look at getting a gun cast from right to left and was told that even by a good gun smith the wood may resort to type and undo the cast you have had done. But I have also heard others say that is works fine. George
lordofthewings
Cannot see the point of doing this, most lefthanded guns carry a premium (ask anyone looking for a L/H gun) Just get ride of it and replace it with the same make and model and probably make a profit. It,s worth while looking at trader sites to see just how small a percentage of left hand guns there are about. Does,nt really answer your question but it is a solution LOTW. reddan
my gun is a righthander and I shoot left. Being a Browning the combs are so thick that it makes little difference as your eye is straight down the gun. Check the fit before you do anything. You can move the stock over but you cant move the toe apparently but if it was a righthander to start with it shouldnt be a problem. Jan147
The problem is i am right handed and my Miroku 3800 is LH. Please dont ask why I did not realise when I bought it secondhand just put it down to being a woman or a senior moment! or BOTH !! Got to decide now if I try to get it changed or just sell it and try to get a RH one. Anyone out there want a LH one? PM me for details. MC
If you like the gun and want to use it then get it fitted to you, you will be suprised what can be done witha gun stock by a competent stocker. LH to RH is easy.
seeker
Funny how times change ... some years ago I bought a L/H cast shotgun at bargain price and had it cast over with no problems. I seem to remember that the Miroku had fairly little cast and 'toe'? Might be worth looking at the Guntrader and it does give you an excellent reason to 'upgrade'. happy hunting Edited June 4, 2009 by seeker
