benbrown1994
I now have a Stealth 2 Ply camo net for pigeon hide, but it looks quite see through, would the pigeons see me through it? I think it has good colours on it, but I just think its a bit bare, so can anyone help me out?

Cosd
I now have a Stealth 2 Ply camo net for pigeon hide, but it looks quite see through, would the pigeons see me through it? I think it has good colours on it, but I just think its a bit bare, so can anyone help me out? What do you mean see through? I use this netting and I wouldn't say it's see through. Visibility looking out from the inside of the hide is quite good (thats the idea) but looking into the hide from the outside concealment is very good. Your background plays a big part as well. If you are set up against a thick backstop then your concealment will be better, if your backstop is thin and see through then your sillhouete will show through the net and you need to be more still as the birds approach. Where did you get it from? UKShootwarehouse make the original one I think, but there are copies around which I'm not sure of their quality. motty
Stealth netting is fantastic, one of the best on the market. I have killed several hundred pigeons from behind just one of these hides on it's own. I don't believe pigeons ever see me.
Cranfield
It does require quite a solid background, or you are silhouetted, but quite a few camo nets are like that. I second Cosd's comment about is it the genuine article. I have seen Stealth Net displayed at a couple of Game Fairs and its just cheapo thin camo sheet, it is definitely not the real thing. I suspect a lot of the cheap stuff on eBay isn't genuine either.

It needs to be a bit "see through" or it would be a solid piece of material, which would be a dead give away. Any bush or hedge has a certain amount of see throughness to it. It also allows you to look out through it, without poking your head out. The idea is to break up your shape, not completely hide you. Make sure you wear dark or camo clothing and if possible, have something behind you, like a hedge, but its not completely necessary.
John_R
It is based on a gauze like they use in theatres for revealing or concealing parts of the stage depending on the lighting, also known as scrim and often referred to as sharkstooth but that it more a measure of the size of the holes. On that basis it is best to make sure you are in the shade, or have a good background, but surely that is much the same for most hide materials. Stealth seems to take an existing idea that extra stage further, and that Clearview product appears to go even further down the gauze line.
