jordan
Well got up 5:30 on saturday morning to go fishing by the time i was at the lake it was 6. I set up and cast in a quill float with size 12 hook baited with luncheon meat. I put the rod down and started setting up the other one looked up to check where my float was to see the rod curving round i grabbed and struck into a nice carp about 4lb http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y108/Lurc...shedlake017.jpg I finished setting up the other rod and rebaited them both and cast one out by an overhanging willow and the other back by the lilys. it then went dead until 9 when the float by the willow shot under struck into what felt like a solid lump it started off accross to the lilys i managed to turn it but it still stayed close to the bottom of the lake after 5 minutes it broke the surface.Lifted him out with the landing net to find a 6 and a half pound tench extremely chuffed as its the biggest tench ive had. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y108/Lurc...shedlake008.jpg The rest of the day went by smoothly with me catching a few more carp and a very nice bream that came off at the net. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y108/Lurc...shedlake003.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y108/Lurc...shedlake007.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y108/Lurc...shedlake016.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y108/Lurc...shedlake013.jpg It then went dead around 6 i switched to some maggots and had two more carp in quick succession then decided to call it a day. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y108/Lurc...shedlake001.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y108/Lurc...shedlake002.jpg p.s has anyone else noticed they only bite when your doing something else most the time it was when i was rolling a fag that they took the bait. Cranfield
Nice photographs of fish and feet. That was a very active session, even including the slow spot.

red_stag88
I was lure fishing on a canal last weekend. I spied a huge perch sat in some thick weed, so I drew a Storm sub wart past him and BANG. Hammers it. I had to play him fairly roughly to avoid the trollys, Vauxhall Novas, dead goats and tree stumps. I was fishing with 30lb braid, as there are pleanty of pike about in this cut. This stripy was a biggun, well over 2lb damn near 3. He rolled on the surface, rolled again and I pulled the ********* hook Gutted. Never mind. I did spot another big perch, and pulled, jigged, cranked, spun, wobbled and drew everything in my bag past him. From a 7in Barra Bait, through spinner baits down to the tinyest ondex spoon. He was having none of it. I sat and watched the water though polorised specks and had a can, and saw alsorts of fish wander by. A huge shoal of bream, some small perch following roach, a few chub (yes chub!) and the odd carp. Absolutly stacked. I will probably fish it with float and worm, or a poped up worm and a feeder of red maggots to see what I can pull out.
