joeshaw08
Went out on the crows today over some maize for a few hours and had quite a productive little session. I managed 6 crows altogether although I lost one in the hedge. I didn't take the dogs as I've heard they play dead and go for the eyes, so I had to leave the house leaving a wimpering spaniel! Did feel bad but I thought it was better than him having his eyes pecked out. Anybody else use their dogs on the crows? I won't tell you how many carts I used, but I can tell you that my shot to kill ratio was pretty bad! My day was summed up when I missed a ground squirrel...twice. But he appeared behind my hide a couple of hours later and splat Although I nailed a couple of fast birds which made up for it. I think i'm going to switch to 5's on the crows as they seem to need a second shot or a bang on the head. Cheers, Joe
