Smogs
Being new to this game & havin recently had a bit of corporate shooting, clays & target, I`ve gone the full hog, got my SC & purchased a secondhand Beretta 686S 28inch barrells, full & 3/4 choke. Living in the middle of Worcestershire with the backdrop of the Malvern Hills, there are plenty of fields full of all the crops everyone mentions on here. Reading through previous postings on the forum, everyone talks about permissions, days out here & there, my obvious stumbling block is where to start..........................what is meant by permissions, which cartridge to use for each situation, plastic against fibre, etc. My apologies if you`ve coverd this before, maybe someone could direct me to previous post Any advice greatly rec`d & finally Hello to everyone

mick54dog
hi, and welcome to the forum. gaining shooting permission can be difficult, but if you have a drive or walk around rural areas and see pigeon or rabbits feeding on crops, its always worth a knock on the farmers door. also, if you have a shooting estate in your area, a visit to the gamekeeper could pay off....enquire if he needs any beaters for the forthcomming season....this may open doors to shooting oppertunities. if /when you do gain some permission, an occasional bottle of wine for the keepers/farmers wife usually works wonders, and a christmas bottle for the boss really does oil the wheels! hope all this helps, im sure youll find something soon. cheers mick
awwintle
hi smogs,as Mick said might be worth you going to croome estate or madresfied to ask if they need beaters in oct then have a chat with a few of the lads & one thing could lead to another or John Clements at swsg might know of somewhere good luck Andy
