spanielboy
Well after everything going so well with the dog and things getting back to normal after being poisoned we have had another set back. It was noticed that one of his testicles was about 3 times as large as the other. A scan was done and all appeared normal...vet joked he was just a big boy! but cell/blood tests came back today and sadly i have been informed that he has a tumor in the larger testicle. He is going in next week to have it removed and tests to see how far on the tumor is. It is devastating considering that the dog will only be two this august! The vet implied that it was likely to have been caused by trauma to the area ie a foot and that it has probably been there for atleast 6 months...before i got the dog! devastating news for a dog that was showing such great potential! hopefully it was just a localised tumor and he will spring back to his normal self again once it is sorted! GW80
Unusal in a young dog, but chances are it will be benign (spelling), hope all goes well mate. Chances are in a young dog he will make a full recovery and will be working for the start of the season!!!
spanielboy
the dog is going in tonight to have both testicals removed. I phoned the vet this mornign and she basically said its urgent to get it done! not good! hope to have him home again tomorrow night. but the wait for the results to see if it has spread is going to be a nightmare! spanielboy
well op was last week and all went great. he only had one removed and once tested it showed that it wasnt a tumor...but was showing signs that it could turn into one. stiches are all healed and tests have been done to see if there was the possibilty of anything spreading and he has the all clear! he has certainly got his spring back...never seen him with soo much energy!
