PERCE
I'm trying to find out if anybody will take or pay for shotgun shot rabbits near to where I live. Despite there being millions of the little ****s I'm loathed to leave them where shot & I've only so much freezer space.

PERCE
I actually enjoy popping away with the shotgun & the dog gets a fun run out too. I can regularly get 30 - 40 in less than 2 hours & that's being fairly picking, I'm tending only to shoot runners. I raw feed two dogs but there's a limit to the amount of ultra lean meat I'd want to give them as I understand they need fat in their diet. The application paperwork is on the desk for a rimfire, I'm just working out how best to fill it in. I'm not 100% sure to go down the 22 or 17 route, I assuming I can apply for both & then buy whatever takes my fancy. The landowner does want his rabbit population reducing so I will be making an effort with the rimfire but I kind of think I'll be ******* into the wind as there's millions of the little ****s everywhere. Paul, I live near Scotch Corner so I guess I'm little bit far away. It could be worked to get a large enough batch that would be worth picking up though. PERCE
Yorkshire Game at Brompton on Swale will take them off of you. Dave They will? Great! Somebody told me they'd not, should have rung them myself in the first place. What's the current going rate?
Frenchieboy
They will? Great! Somebody told me they'd not, should have rung them myself in the first place. What's the current going rate? I'm not sure what the going rate is in your area but I have a dealer in Todmorden (West Yorkshire Border) who pays £1.00 each for gutted adult head shot rabbits. If you want the contact details please PM me! p.s. I use a .22 Winchester 290 with Moderator for mine and can take the little bu**ers out with head shots at up to 100 yards. I have never used a .17 so can't advise on that. You can put down for both on your FAC application form, then you have your options open to try both and see which you prefer. Hope this helps - Good Luck! Edited July 15, 2009 by Frenchieboy
Bleeh
Get a mincer, make your own mince for sausages and burgers? they take up alot less space per rabbit that way.
