teal27
Can anyone recomend a s/s to me please as im after one and havent had one before, does one shoot better than the others? Ugartechea,AyA,arremberri, belgium?
jinxy72
depends on what u want to spend ...... i have 2 AYA's and are good quality guns and can pick up some bargains ... good thing about these is that the hinge pins can easily be replaced so if it does go slack at some point it shouldnt cost a lot to fix also alot of the AYA stocks are interchangeable so if it gets damaged should be able to find a replacement Edited July 24, 2009 by jinxy72
Delbert
Can anyone recomend a s/s to me please as im after one and havent had one before, does one shoot better than the others? Ugartechea,AyA,arremberri, belgium? I use a venerable Ugartechea Master DTE for rough shooting choked cyl + 1/4 ( by local gunsmith ) very pointable for snap shooting and it works for me but the best bet is to try your mates guns. The one you want is the one that feels right and nobody else can tell you which one that is.When you find it the confidence you gain will make it shoot better than the others. Always worth trying ( get over the prejudice about russian kit) are Baikal ,Kestrel, Aya , Sable all of which I have shot over the years and I have always had a soft spot for the Bettinsoli I invariable handle one at some point at gamefairs and they always feel right to me never actually got my hand in my pocket tho. There are a barrow load of reviews at Shooting Times website but I don't ever remember seeing a bad one which is one of the reasons I stopped buying the paper http://www.shootinguk.co.uk/guns/shotguns Derek
teal27
thanks for the reply, another quick question, am i right in thinking you can use steel shot down the barrel as long as it isnt full choke, ie 1/4, 1/2 , 3/4 is ok?
YorkshirePurdey
I have a sabel black deluxe, pretty much the same as the AYA, also like the AYA has disc set strikers which are easy to replace if a firing pin beaks on you!

mr salt
sliver hawk or aya depends on budget. aya are very good for the money. make sure its all tight and does not bend from side to side, and you wont really go wrong. side by sides are light , so will kick more. my want to shot 28grms.not 32grms. i would say everyone should have one as they are such good value at mo. scott mr salt

AYA starts at about a £1000 but are much better build quality then beretta beretta only really come into their own in the o/u market as u have more options than AYA
mr salt
I have a aya ,and often shoot a friends silver hawk,i wont say theres much in quality between the two.(iam no gunsmith tho) (not delux models). But i did buy the aya. Find a good cheap bargin and if it feels ok (fits you) go for it. scott mr salt
