Alpha Mule
Man up and use a bit of barbed wire! If you manage it, can you tell me how you got on I have enough trouble with a sharp knife. I've also found poo left in the pelvis, so now I do a thing that's a bit off putting with my pinky finger when I gut them. Get down to Tesco, they have sales on where you can buy those snap-off style utility knives for a quid. Zapp
I've tidied this up to remove the squabblings of one or two because useful info is coming out and the OP is getting his question answered. Squabblers, take it to PM's and duke it out or sort it out. ZB
monkeyjaimz
I always gut and skin mine when I get back to the truck before setting off home I also use a stanley knife with those slightly curved blades (for cutting lino etc), you can set the depth of cut and unzip bunnies with ease
John_R
This is a handy tool to keep in your pocket, if it is still the same as when I bought it it also has a groove that can help sharpen hooks on lures. http://www.screwfix.com/prods/20835/Hand-T...-Sharpening-Pen
mick miller
Second the curved stanley blade. No need to sharpen, and really effective with little chance of piercing the poo bits.
Colster
Right, this should do the trick, look out bunnies
John_R
Right, this should do the trick, look out bunnies By the time that thing gets near them, the bunnies aren't going to care!
Beardo
if you get to use that to dispatch a live bunny, you know your stalking skills are honed!
Colster
Well as it turned out the S&W wasn't much cop, ok-ish for the first couple but the third I'd have been better off using my teeth. Taken the earlier advice and tried a stanley knife with the hooked blade - bloody marvellous, like someone had fitted a zip to the rabbit. Thanks guys
vulpicide
The main reason for taking the **** out of rabbits as opposed to fellow PW members is to avoid contamination also if you paunch (gut) the rabbit straight away it cools down quickly therefor the meat is better and they keep better remember once the rabbit is dead it is then food and should be treated as such.YIS
