Is there anyone out there who can help. I have been trying to get some shooting this year on decoying woody, but to no avail . I have a lot of empty promises and an getting very frustated. I have all the gear, ie camo netting decoys, 3 guns, anmo, big lunch box and a sense off humour. (especally when I miss. ) If anyone can help me in the hour of need I would very much apreciate it (bottle of wiskey)

I live in Norwich and could shoot in the evenings and weekends.

Hi Chris,

Thought I'd reply so you don't feel too lonely, unfortunately can't offer you any land as the only land I shoot on myself is with my father in law who's the gamekeeper nice to be able to spend an afternoon shooting a few woodies.

There was a guy out cromer way called I think eric swan who was advertising in gun mart it was mainly for airgunners but he may have some shotgun land. Dunno if he still puts an advert in.

Hope you get some land soon.

Cheers,

Ben

Chris, who let you down, the landowners or your contacts? Sometimes you get lucky and just meet someone who says yes when you ask, but thats rare.

I was lucky. Secured 1000 acres while checking a customers suspension knock, but the rest was obtained by following the advice of a posting on this site. It said to use yell.com to find farmers etc. and write to them first. I had a right result and consequently gained smaller, but better, farms to decoy.

Anyway, its a bit of a long shot asking here but I wish you good luck.

There were a few people who were in the know , who owed me a few favours, so you could say contacts let me down . I see what you mean about the lunch box . will have to watch my words. Things are coming in thick and fast now. I have a meeting with a farmer this week through a friend at work who put a good word in . and also I have a mate who wants a door changed over etc. his barn backs onto a hugh feild of peas with open purmission to shot over. Glory be !!!!! so Shooting first , door after ( learning fast !!! ) no shooting , no door . Fair dont you think !
