Is it the shape of the pellet that stops a pellet going faster than sound? Just curious

I was under the impression that under high powers you need a tough pellet something that wouldnt deform. I maybe wrong but i would say weight isnt the issue but the ability not to deform

Ron I think the key is in the hide, if you can get some netting over the top of you it makes a big difference. Also get into position once the pigeon has commited to its landing you will notice the change in wing beat. I shoot with an airrifle so i have to get them to land and stay around long enough to shoot them. Which really hones your field craft skills.

use the thorn proof wax by babour, it is a pain to put on but its worth it, also finish of with a hair drier to get a nice finish
