Dove shooting in Argentina

Yes have been twice will pm agents details !

Are you looking to shoot in the sun flower fields or high birds all day shooting ?

Thanks. Didn't realise there was a difference. I fancy something where there is guaranteed shooting (I have had too many blank days in the fields here!). Doesn't have to be thousands. Most definitely don't want to be surrounded by loudmouth septics high fiving one another which some of the videos seem to show.

Then just book with a shooting agent near you, the Argie doves tend to be in the 1000`s

Show me an pigeon guide in the UK that can guarantee shooting? They can't and won't. As I said I've had too many blank days including days with guides. I'm not blaming them that's just the way it is. I also fancy something different

I posted a couple weeks back on the same topic. Be careful about several things. Most important is the length of drive to the shoots. Check references. All the outfitters in Argentina are a bit hungry now.

The biggest mistake guys make is that after you factor in airfare and your shells, the difference in price between second tier and the best is very little if anything at all.

Yes, the dove shooting in Argentina is practicaly guaranteed with any good outfitter. 365 days a year, you can shoot 1000 shells. With a mediocre outfitter, it is a different story a they don't have as many properties under lease and overshoot some.

Tremendous trip, but be careful how you choose.

PM me if you want. I outfitted fly fishing and hunting trips there for years.

have a look at shooting-holidays.com-they've a deal for 5 days plus 2000 rounds incl air fare for £2300.

i've been dreaming lately as its my 40th next year and want a little pressie for myself.

wise words from swift earlier that the cost of ammo always exceeds the cost of the trip.

looks like you have to fly to madrid then onto beunos aires-seems a long way to go.

still undecided

cheers fudd

I just had a quick look and that does seem very cheap. Even allowing for the use of a cheap airline that seems a lot cheaper than others I have seen which seem to be in the range of $2,500-$3,500 excluding flights, gun rental, free cartridges etc. Even the cost of shells seems cheap. They are quoting $7.50 a box compared to $10-14 on other sites.

I would like to fly with BA as I have tons of BA miles and can get a return trip in First Class (BA fly to Buenos Aires). That will reduce the cost. I'll give them a call and see what they can do excluding flights but following Swift's advice i'd be wary of it beeing too cheap.

I get a few guys up with me who go out there.

One guy, who's up shooting with me just now, books direct with the guide and goes in the off-peak season.

He can still shoot up to 1000 shots a day, which is all he wants, and it costs a fraction of the cost of booking through an agent.

Mark.

AVB-Yep, I too got the 'too good to be true' shivers when i saw the deal they have.

keep me posted if you make any progress on independent travel rather than an outfitters.

it does seem the way forward what with t'interweb to do a bit of diy to plan a trip
