AndyCM
You'd prefer a couple of hectares to a couple of AKERS Find some conversion site - hectares are larger

Baldrick
1 hectare = 2.47 acres 2.471 acres to the hectare, John - you should know that! Hectares are the metric system used throughout Europe, with acres now 'old money'. It's common practice to use both for farming and surveying work. If it helps you to visualise things, 1 hectare is 100m x 100m square. 100 hectares is a square kilometre. An acre is about the size of a football pitch. Baldrick
Yup I was still distraught over the sheep shooting game when I posted I still know more than our Department of Agriculture though. I suspect you know more than DEFRA does about farming too. In fact, by half-wit Labrador has a better grasp of the practicalities of modern agriculture than half of the shaved apes at DEFRA and the RPA. dieseldogg
Cept most of ours are 90 by 60, the older ones in yards the newer ones in metres Ok We got a wheen of bigger ones as well, but hey we have recieved complaints from some of the footballers that the bigger pitch tires them out, too far to run
alexr
I like the idea of the 70 yards by 70 yards, I can actually visualize that, thanks. Got to say the only football pitch I ever liked was the one 32" from corner to corner that sits in the corner of the living room on a saturday night. You know the one with that Linaker bloke on it.
