hi guy a little help i never really come a cross borage before but one of the farms i shoot for at work is growing it so my

QUESTION'S ARE WHAT IS IT AND WHAT IS IT USED FOR :good:

Its a breakfast cereal, mainly eaten in Scotland. They boil it up in a pan with milk, and then add sugar or jam. I like a blob of honey in the middle. There is a famous maker called 'Quaker' who sell it in a box with a tartan clad shot putter on the front. :lol:

Borage seed oil is very refined and rich, and is used for pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. We grew borage up until last year, on contract for the pharma trade. It's a rather fussy crop to harvest and eradicate after you're done with it, but if you get it right, the financial return is spectacular.

 

MerseaDavid is about to start cutting his borage. He will be able to expand on how this year's crop has fared.
