Cranfield
Damp hessian sacks, or cool boxes (the very large ones). Alternatively don't worry about it , but make sure your birds go in the freezer, or are processed the same day.
MerseaDavid
As Cranfield said - use Damp hessian sacks or cool boxes. That is about the only way to keep the flies away.
George1990
Or just tie them up in carrier bags and put them in the shade. Easier than lugging hessian or boxes around. Or even easier just leave em
Tobyb525
Might try the sacks as it will also keep them cool, Its just because I went for the first time yesterday and when I breasted them one had fly eggs on it, must have been the one on top of the heap of birds - not nice
MerseaDavid
If you only want the breast then I would take a knife with you and cut the breast off and put them into a cool box or bag and then you can still use the birds as decoys
pigeon controller
I recently went to a Car Boot and bought two Carp Sacks 4ftx3ft with a zip on the long edge for a £5 I wet them and keep the birds in the back of the hide. As they are a very fine and stong net I only get flyblow on the outside of the bag and clean birds for the freezer.
