my coleman is also ballsed mate, so im going with head torches, and might take my deben tracer as well.

have you seen the weather for today :lol::P:lol:

The only problem with mine is the mantle and I don't have any spares. Shops don't seem to sell anything useful these days, so I'm not sure where to get them from. I've got to suffer the Trafford Centre briefly this morning so I'll try Millets. I don't hold much hope though. Millets only seem to sell mass-market **** these days. :hmm:

about the size of a golf ball. ive a 3pack, so bring some fuel, and you can get between me and rob.. (oooh er) and light us all up :yp:

I've just found a packet with 2 in it

I'll get some fuel and test it out, it hasn't been lit for about 2 years  but it should be OK.

The base looks very rusty, I just hope it doesn't leak petrol :lol::lol:

See you in Perch Rock car park at 8pm ish :good:

:hmm:

Another one down to experience :P

Actually a very nice night to be out, it was warm with a light breeze, comfortable fishing. I must say there were a lot more fish in the Mersey than at Holyhead last time out :D . However, targeting Thornback Rays with whole squid baits and big hooks meant that small stuff would be out the window. We had bites just about every cast (unlike Holyhead), mostly dogfish and whiting, but they just couldn't get the baits in their gobs

Arrived here just as the sun set, New Brighton prom tiddly-om-pom-pom and Fort Perch Rock, we fished just behind the fort on the beach at low water, casting into the estuary river channel.

We started catching/missing bites/losing fish right from the off, I dropped a biggish fish half way in, presumably because it couldn't get the bait in it's mouth. At first I thought it was a small ray, but on reflection, I think it was probably a bigger dogfish :good:

MM with a dog - woof woof :P

It's Dogfish City :good:

Plenty of these little ******* around. You wouldn't believe how a few of these can demolish a whole squid bait :good: . (Considering squid is as tough as an old boot)

An enjoyable evening, great company and some laughs :good: MM has more pics on his camera, including one of some handsome bloke (with a dogfish) :P .

We fished from about 8:30 till half past midnightish, when we made the mistake of mentioning beer and food :hmm: . Home James.

When we got back to the car park, there was a disco opposite the fort, obviously in full flow. We were going to pop over and get darn wiv da kids in our stenching fishing gear, but thought better of it. The bouncers looked a bit hardcore :D
