Toombsy
If you're interested in how our home teams will fare at this year's Coarse Fishing World Championships on the Lage Vaart Canal in Holland, I'll be adding updates throughout the weekend, with the final results added on Sunday. Here's the news so far... CLICK Good luck to 'em all

Raja Clavata
Sounds like a lottery which is surely not the intention for such an event. All things being equal we'd surely have nothing much to worry about?
hendersons
i used to fish against some of the england boys in opens. The one thing you can gaurantee about these guys is that 99% of the time they will get the maximum number of fish out of the peg they have drawn. So if they get a decent draw they will win. nick
partridge60
Agree they are more professional than amateurs and I fished in three Nationals! However what concerns me is that we were last years champs - where was the welcome home for our guys and the bus ride round London cheering crowds etc? tosspot
I gave up match fishing ten years or so ago when commercials started taking over the scene, did Winter, Summer, Super League, couple of Nationals (Div 4), County stuff plus usual open stuff, it never ceased to amaze me the different class the top boys were in, trying to mix it with them on a natural venue was nigh on impossible, yes they had the top gear and A1 bait (bloodworm and joker packs that the clubman could only dream of) but their skill in reading the water and timing on bait presentation was spooky. Been a lot of conjecture lately on who makes the best angler "match" or "specimen" i know who i'd put my money on
