steve_b_wales
I bought this kit about a year ago. The 4 hole turret is a good idea, as it allows you to keep all your dies together, without the need to unscrew/screw them. However, I found problems with the linkage, which lines the turret hole up with the ram. It kept on getting out of 'sinc'. I removed the knurled bar, and now use it manually. Steve. miniwizard
good for straight cases, not very good for bottle necked cases unless you take your time.plus its made out of aluminium,so not as sturdy as say a rcbs, lyman or hornady, better to get a single stage and take your time,if you want quick changing on the dies, get the hornady "lock'n'load", check it out on hornady's web site. https://www.hornady.com/shop/?ps_session=0c...c12a3124e64c1e5 Edited September 19, 2009 by miniwizard
whitehackle
what about a single stage press of a higher quality? Im thinking of reloadind my .222 REM, I am only going to be reloading 20 bullets every now and again for hunting. thank you
Vince Green
The auto index press is really intended for loading larger volumes of pistol ammunition. A single stage press would probably be more suited to your needs. The turret presses are a bit flimsy for rifle. Lee dies are good but throw away the locking rings and buy some that can be locked permanently using an allen key.
Harnser
Used this press for years and am fully satisfied with it . I also say throw away the silly self indexing thingy and turn the press by hand . Harnser .
Epic Fail
i have had this kit fot 3 days took me about 2 hours to set everything up and set the dies loaded 300 rounds with it for me it does keep going out of sync.. not spinning the dies far enough or even spinning too far... and also the primer seating arm keeps coming out of the press every now and then when i lift the bullet up to get to the dies and the wooden ball on the end of the handle has come lose... need to clue it back on other than that its pretty good.. very easy to use once you get it set up i think i loaded the last 50 as a single stage and took basically the same time as auto index Edited October 3, 2009 by angelotambini
Sauer
i had one but used it manually so i could do a batch o bullets "stage" at a time rather than 1 bullet complete in 4 turns....pain in the *** go up one evening for wee while and size a heap o brass next nite or whenever prime them up then nite later ...bullet seat etc. it worked for me but i totally agree with multi hole press so your not faffing bout screwing /unscrewing dies all the bloody time ...especially if your new and wondering if you set it up ok?!?!! NOW If you want a multi holed turret press which is ABSOLUTELY BLOODY SOLID and built like a tank i can HIGHLY recommend the LYMAN T-MAG PRESS its what i have and it takes my lee deluxe dies etc no probs but is far superior to the lee 4 -hole press. and i have no problems with accuracy sauer
