High velocity
Can any one help, I have been looking around for what i think is called a ladder trap, it is a multi catch trap for crows. I have some new permision and the owner has asked me to thin out the very large population of crows. I have been shooting them but they dont seem to be thining out much. Plus i would rather spend time shooting his pigeons, which i dont mind eating, unlike the black things. any help in finding what im after will be appreciated. Teal
Hmm I know what you are talking about. Basically it`s big like a small pheasant pen, with a roof which has two pieces which go \ / . Its hard to describe and i`m on a stupid french keyboard at the minute but basically the idea is the crows hop down the top and can`t get out because their wingspan zon`t fit and they can`t fly vertically. Shouldn`t be too difficult good luck would be interested to see how you get on as had thought of making one myself.
henry d
Go to the BASC site and look up"trapping pest birds code of practice"and there is a picture but no dimensions for the ladder.I will ring a few `keepers and ask their advice for you. JRDS
Buy a secondhand copy of Trapping a Practical guide by James Bateman, should only cost a couple of quid from ade books or similar. There are three styles in that with dimensions etc.

M ROBSON
We have a couple of Larsen traps by our ponds and would normally have stopped using them by this time of the year, due to them not catching, but this week we've had another 5 Carrion Crows. Staffs-Shooter
We have had some real quality bags decoying the black things this year. As a result our farmers are well chuffed & are opening up more pigeon shooting land to us. I would suggest carrying on blasting away. I would love to, but havnt at the moment got as much time as i would like. But doing it this way i am expecting the land owner to spread the word about to other farmers at the market and such like, about this nice young gent that comes round and does a bit of corvid control (for free). I find its a good way of gaining more permision. B)
