mayfly36
NOW THIS I WAS GOBSMACKED OVER... Prohibited Methods of Taking/Killing Wildlife (Including Game)FROM THE BASC PAGE. Autos And Semi Autos...................... Did you know It is illegal to use certain methods for killing or taking wildlife. Unless stated the following offences, which are subject to prosecution, apply to both birds and animals: The use of any automatic or semi-automatic weapon against any bird except the Bird Pest Species and some mammals. "Automatic weapon" and "semi-automatic weapon" includes any weapon the magazine of which is capable of holding more than two rounds. On monday we downed 8 duck wit our semi's, so according to this we were commiting an offense.
Ozzy Fudd
knew that already: if your gun is choked to 2 in the mag and 1 in the breach then youre fine, if not then its dangerous territory

Ozzy Fudd
yeah i had a panic over that when i got my montefeltro, as long as the mag is restricted to two youre ok BUT just thinking.... i cant remember the exact wording of it, but if that wording you posted is right, then technically if i used my 10/22 to take out a few crows, etc, it could be an offence dammit mayfly would you stop posting!! Breastman
Babby - Crows are covered by the General licenses which allow you to kill pest species with hi-cap rifles or multi-shot shotguns. Its just game birds you can't use the 'fun' guns on Mark

Heladoxa
Is the magazine capacity relevant? If you pull the trigger and the gun ejects the spent cartridge case and re-loads another, it's a semi-automatic.

Nial
Is the magazine capacity relevant? Yes. If you pull the trigger and the gun ejects the spent cartridge case and re-loads another, it's a semi-automatic. Not as defined by the legislation..... "Automatic weapon" and "semi-automatic weapon" includes any weapon the magazine of which is capable of holding more than two rounds Nial.
