Reeceknight
well I work in aero space as a welder, welding live air craft and components, mainly for military and RAF fighters, Westland Helicoptors etc. I have also been studying aerospace sheet metal for the past 3 years so wanted to mess about with that aswell I had a few hours to spare so though I would try make the most of it and create something so knocked these out, didn't take long as the idea was all in my head, 2 hours well spent? My boss wouldn't agree π ππΌππΌ Β Β Β

bakerboy
Reminds me of a headline in the paper many years ago, when a local mad man ran into a Launderette and raped all the women and then ran away, the headline read; Β Nut Screws Washers and Bolts. ditchman
Never heard of a "welders log"?? Please enlighten Β Β Β start off with 20mm round steel...cut a couple of small pieces off and tack weld them to the long bit...heat it up and bend it about a bit into a tree sort of shape...then start doing neat runs of weld...best using low hydrodren rods all over the steel so it looks like bark......let it cool then cut and polish the ends.....then cut and polish a "vee" in the "log" ...then make an axe and wack a sharp steel chisel into the log and solder the axe into the cut.......mount onto a hardwood base and varnish............ Β Β Β its what we did when we got board........................

Reeceknight
I know load of people who have made welding logs, some I have seen in the Internet look amazing, they weld real axes in them now and punt them on stands for garden furniture, impressive when done correctly
