Went out on Monday night with Richard my son he is home for a few days and wanted to go lamping......

So we gave Silverfox a call he was up for coming but wasnt bothered about shooting anyway took the .22 Anshutz rimmy for rabbits and the tikka 223 just in case......

I drove and lamped Rich did all the shooting got about 12 rabbits then i spotted charlie silverfox had the 223 in the back with him.

Hr got it uncased and handed it over to me i gave it to Rich he hadnt had a fox before soon as he had got quietly out of the motor and steadied himself on the door i put the lamp on he was still there sat at the top of the field about 200yds away..

A couple of squeaks and he started running in to us i kept him just on the edge of the light. He got about 60yds away and stopped sat down slightly on an angle to us i had told Richard not to shoot till i said, i whispered to him if he was ready, he was so i put charlie on full beam and said shoot the sod bullet went in the front of his chest and tore half his insides out but the bug**r still ran about 10yds..

before dropping dead....

Great shot, I find it interesting that it causes so much damage! I'd of thought it would just pass straight through without blowing a bloody big hole in it!

Andy i use 50grn BT and load my own have shot them between 100 and 200 yds and the bullet goes in and thats it, hard to see the entry some times.

then another time when its close it does this damage to it.
