MC
Gentlemen, and ladies. A few of us from Essex will be shooting at Fennes in Braintree on new years eve. I apologise that it won't have QUALITY targets but Southdown is too far to go. The ground is open from 9AM til 1PM and I suggest an early meet for bacon rolls and tea before shooting a few clays. Anyone who would like to blow the cobwebs from Christmas away is more than welcome. Cheers MC
Markio
I'll be there.
Peter De La Mare
I'm a regular Wednesday shooter there at the moment, so I'll be there as well. There are some good targets, not mentioning a 81 yard teal. Easy shooting it on the way down, but that's cheating, shooting it on the way up is a challenge, as is the number 3 bird on that same stand (8 different birds) which has cost me a lot in clays and cartridges. Chard
I don't think real shooters will be interested unless you can guarantee that every clay flies a pre-determined course and doesn't deviate from it by a millimetre. You can't have this random willy-nillyness at a real shoot, and there are soooooooooooooooo few grounds that can meet those exacting standards. And of course, if there's any "birds only" element to it, the muppets and riff-raaaaarff will descend on you.
Drive By
Sounds good, will this be in addition to the proposed one on the 27th? I remeber that being mentioned but haven't seen any further posts about it!
MJN
I hope to make it, as this will be my last chance I expect before jetting off again for a couple of years. 9:00 for bacon batches it is then.

Not for me, i did put a post up saying to scrap the Fyfield idea, so few people were interested i'd rather just go to somewhere closer. http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/ind...mp;#entry637236

Hey Chard, Perhaps we can bus down a load of scorers from Worsley for the day, complete with dark glasses, white sticks and instructions in Braille..?? That should make it interesting. B) Let's hope it's not a birds only type shoot, it would attract far too many muppets and numpties, I was going to suggest that everybody bungs a £50 note into the pot and winner takes all, that'll focus the mind, as they say..?? MC
Whats up Cat? Has you agent been on the phone saying you had better get out there and take some cash off the novices. Has it been a while since you had a major win? Are you now becoming a liability to your agent rather than a cash machine.
Catamong
No way, I've had loads of wins recently, just don't shout about them, that's all. Only last week I was tied for High Gun at the ZZ's Xmas comp at A1, shot 14 ex 15, but got beaten in the shoot off. Be afraid New Years eve, be very afraid..!! Cat. Catamong
I has heard that ZZ was difficult, Yes, it's incredibly hard, but I've always found that true talent always rises to the top. It's also way beyond the financial reach of any Essex man, the 15 target competition cost £50 to enter, practice targets were £1.50 a go. Cat. Catamong
Just out of interest, how many entered this competition (not birds only) I think there were about 25 entries, it's not that popular 'cos it takes an age to shoot and it's expensive, but it's the closest most people will ever get to shooting down a helicopter.
