  1. I hear what your saying! you've gotta be in it to win it I guess tho bud... it will sell sooner or later.
  2. Sorry gents, just put a couple more up on the advert on gun watch...
  3. Hi I've still got this, could really do with shifting it, £600 cash and you own it!
  4. Hi guys my question is this, the game season is getting towards the end, and I'd like to get into pigeon shooting a bit more, I've dabbled in it over the years, but what would you recommend I buy as a good decoying setup? what decoys are best and how many? bouncers pigeon magnet ect, any help would be great thanks!
  5. Any chance of getting some really good but simple hare recipes chaps, got a big one today!
  6. I've got a swb 2.8, 20 years old and still going strong, can't fault the old beast, no engine management lights or limp home mode, it either goes or it don't, I've got a set of BFG mud terrains on and it will go anywhere, they also have a full time 4 wheel drive mode which is nice in the snow and icy mornings, yes there thirsty but if your looking for fuel economy a 4x4 is not the right motor is it...
  7. Oh yeah they can split alright, I had a caesar guerini maxim absolutely mint had it from new, decided to trade it in, the guy in the shop was looking it over and says "well sir your not going to like this but no deal can be done here today" why was my obvious reply, must admit at this point my hackles had gone up because I'd already phoned him to find out if he wanted it or not which he did, he says "look closely and you will see the stock is cracked from the barrel selector through to the trigger guard on the other side!!" I was absolutely mortified to say the least, I'd never even spotted it, just looked like the grain of the wood but on closer inspection it was cracked alright, insurance is defiantly worth while...
  8. I've got a grade 5 mk70, it's the new back bored version, absolutely love it, beautiful gun!
  9. I have a nice little lump of ash wood which I've had years, I drilled a hole through one end and just clip it on my belt, just calmly pick up any winged birds and give em a sharp thonk! Over the head, quick, instant, pain less...
  10. As in the title, I've just bought myself a new browning 17 hmr, and I've got my eye on a deben bi pod, what do you think, are they as good as any? And also how do they fit to the stock? I don't have to go drilling holes do I?? Lastly what have you found to be the ideal size, I'm looking at a 6-9"... Cheers for any replys
  11. I've looked at a lot of middle of the range 17 hmr rifles lately and it just looks a really well made gun, i love the magazine on it, obviously the C.Z's are great value for money and its just me being anal but I can't help keep looking at the trigger on em, you've got this really nice gun then this trigger that looks like its been cut out of an old tin of spam, the sako quads I really like as well but are they worth twice as much as a C.Z in my option no, but the T bolt seems to be a winner for me, really nice build quality and at £450 new it's a realistic price tag, so from what you guys have said I think it's a winner, cheers for the replies fellas...
  12. As the title says really, what's your opinion on these, I've seen one and I think I'm gonna have it, really looked like it had moved with the times, so I was just curious what experience you guys have had with these? The one I've seen has a wild cat moderator on it also, looks a proper tasty bit of kit!
  13. Just found a picture of this old beast I called him "Henry" this is what I had for a few years before the pajero, in fact you can see the pajero just behind it, he was an ex army 2.25 petrol 109 24 volt FFR, when I bought it not knowing much about landys at all, got told by the guy I got it off "yeah mate it's proper heavy duty, its even 24 volt" I thought lovely ol job! What I found out in time was in fact it was in its day an ex radio wagon and had a screened engine, which means not only are most components totally different to a standard series 3 109, but there also twice as expensive!! if you can even find em, and the brakes were not for the faint hearted...lol
  14. If its what you want go for it, nothing worth having comes easy...
  15. Pajero 2.8, had it a couple of years now and can't fault it, 20 years old and still going strong, not quick by any stretch of the imagination but she will pull a house down, and goes anywhere... Love it!
  16. There must be reasons you've had a quote that high? I'm 29 have a 2.8 swb pajero which is a jap import insured with Adrian flux, I've only been driving 12 years, clean licence but I had a prank 4 years ago which was my fault, nothing serious just a minor bump but still it's on my record for another 12 months, also it's my second vehicle and I've only got 1 years no claims on it.... £300 fully comp!
  17. No worrys mate, just thought I'd throw it out there, I've seen a 17 hmr bolt action with a stock like you wouldn't believe and it's got my name all over it, just gotta shift the lightning to make a bit of room...
  18. I've got an as new in the box BSA lightening XL .22 with nikko Stirling scope and nice leather sling for sale if its any interest to you, I'm roughly 30 mins drive from Cambridge, comes with the box and all instructions, Its had 20 slugs through it at most and stood in the corner ever since... £200 the lot
  19. One other thing you should know is a sheeps sole purpose in life is to find a way to die! You'll spend more time trying to keep em alive than anything else, consider dexter cows they grow waist height fully grown, there hardy, extremely placid, and taste great!
  20. David brown 996 is what you want my ol beauty... has 550 and 1000 pto, will lift a 12ft topper no problem, they will also pull a 4 forough plough all day long, they have 2 spool valves ideal for running a log splitter, there honestly bullet proof! Believe it or not You use the same oil for the engine the hydraulics and the air filter, 995's you can pick up slightly cheaper, has the same engine, but different cab and no power steering which gets old real fast, you'll pick up a good one for 3 to 3.5k all day long, stretch to 4 and you'd get a front loader as well, and there not as steal able as a quad, mines insured fully comp for road use also, and any implement on the back for £100 a year with the NFU, I have a 7 acre small holding where I keep pigs chickens geese dexter cows a 3 year old shire horse, and a thoroughbred cross and grow veg anything your unsure of drop me a line I'd be glad to help, when you first start keeping live stock all the paper work can be a bit daunting at first...
  21. I've got a swb 2.8, my ones an (M) reg 1994 so just shy of 20 years old and still going strong! And i do a lot of towing with it, I think there a superb motor for the little money they fetch, a couple of guys on here have said there expensive on parts which is a bit of mis information there, you can buy a complete 2.8 engine for £500 and recon gear boxes only fetch £300, the best advice I ever got was "oils cheaper than metal" keep em serviced every year and they won't let you down, there's a guy in my village with a lwb 2.8 with 280'000 miles on the clock, and thats with the original engine and gearbox, you ain't gonna get that kind of use out of a land rover fact!
  22. 2.8 pajero all the way, if you buy a landrover and you don't know what your lookin at your gonna end up with loads of problems, the pajero has a chain driven engine so no cambelt to worry about, you'd get a cracking one for 2k, they don't even have a catalytic converter it's just a straight through exhaust, they are not quick by any stretch of the imagination but they will pull a house down! I really rate them, and they have a centre diff lock which the discos don't there an absolute animal off road... 2.8 pajero
  23. It's funny you should bring this up, now this shows how every area works totally differently, I've just got my FAC and one of my referees was deemed unsuitable because he was cautioned for possession of Cannabis 15 years ago! he now holds a shotgun certificate himself, but that was the constabularys view that he was unsuitable and I had to get a 3rd referee, so youd think that my area are pretty strict right? now here's another example I got an open ticket straight off! Which people on here said was nearly unheard of, so it just goes to show that they all run with a different set of rules...
  24. 5 weeks for me start to finish! pretty good I thought...
