  2. Well chaps, thanks for all your comments. I had never imagined I could cause so much controversy and debate. The info is top notch. Many thanks HEAD SHOT.
  3. Just wondering what these old garden guns are all about, after a friend showed me a one. Sure some one could enlighten me. Smaller than a 410, what use are they and can you still get cartridges for them?
  4. I'm down the road from you. If you get sorted, give us a shout. Got the gear but no land. Cheers.

dustyfox. Fair comment. Waste of media space more like. My heart goes to those 5 gorgeous young girls killed on the bus. Need not say more.
  6. MOZART. Is there anything else worth listening to?

Its all very sorry indeed. But what about the people that found the body, cut it down and all the rest etc. I have had to do it myself and it *****d my day up. Cheers you thoughtless ********.
  8. Wished I had a camera when I saw an otter nick off with a salmon I had just caught.
  9. Yep I was drunk from the pub. Bought a hawaiian shirt with swimming fish on it. £5 I think. What the hell for? Sold it for a profit. Haha not so daft eh.
  10. If I was to come across a road kill, be it a deer or pheasant and wanted to take it for the pot. Where do I stand with the law and do I have the right to do so, knowing that its not my road or land?

  13. HaHaHa I see what you mean. Christ not more punishment. Oh God no.
  14. Anties realy get up my snotter. last night I when out on the town, I chatted up a realy horsy bitch with a camels hoof. Hmmmm. She had aquired some land to ride around and found a trap with maggies in. She let them loose and booted the trap over. To think, I thought, I had got some bunny shooting, I was wrong. So called country people, be aware folks, theres always someone that hates what you do and love.
  15. Mrs Sweepy you real are a teeeez. I think you realy want man company. But if I met you in the pub I'd buy you a few drinks to get going.
  16. Question: Is it illegal to pick a dead badger up? I have picked a few road kills up for the taxidermist but I was told that its illegal because of bovine tb.....
  17. Interesting comments. I also have seen many on the moors in the NE, particularly in the summer basking in the sun. They are very shy creatures that would rather slither away from any trouble. I often wondered what the effects of a bit would be or a dog getting it. Can you imagine what the local hosital would say or know what to do with an adder bite. Hmmmm. Never the less a wonderful sight to see.
  18. HAS ANY ONE OUT THERE HAD A GO AT MAKING THEIR OWN ROTARY MACHINE. I WAS TALKING TO A BLOKE TODAY WHO SAID YOU COULD EASILY MAKE ONE WITH A CAR WINDSCREEN WIPER MOTOR. THERE IS NOT MUCH TO IT AND A DIY BOD COULD KNOCK ONE UP EASILY. YOU WOULD SAVE A SMALL FORTUNE. ANY ADVICE.....
  19. With out doubt go for the MEINDL BURMAS. I am on my second pair and love them to bits. But the important thing is to get a pair that fits.
  20. Does Archie Coats still have the record of 550 pigeons shot in one outing? Just wondering as I am currently reading his book.
  21. Yep I would agree with webbedfootfenman. I started shooting not long ago and found the clays a good introduction to the sport. Some instruction teaches you the important basics that are fundamental such as foot work and gun handling. What I remember most was the saying "shoot at nothing". In other words you are shooting at fresh air when you are ahead of the target. Also to keep the gun moving through. Knowing when to pull the trigger is a matter of practice and experience. But remember clays slow down and birds speed up so theres a big difference. Happy shooting mate.
  22. Sound advice mate. I was just in the process of creating stick/branch piles for some kind of cover. The westerly wind is prevelent where I live. Shure the dog will love to sniff through it.
  23. Good to have you on board Pheasant Shooter. Yes, a fellow Co. Durham man.
  24. I am thinking of getting a new 4x4 but I am baffled as to which one. Does any one have some good ideas as to the most environmentally friendly and economical to run. I am sick of all the tax I have to pay. Comments please.......
