  1. I like the look of the new Browning Cynergy, Has anyone tried one? I fancy the 30'' Sporting Multichoke.
  2. Red Stag, you know Garlands well then. I buy most of my kit from there and enjoy shooting the auto at triples off the tower in the week, when its quite. We'll have to meet up some time.
  3. Ernyha I'm only in Derby, Invites me for a days woodying and I'll bring you a couple of boxes to try!!!!! Of Course I'd return the favour come stubble time.. FAS
  4. I agree with CS Express special game 6's seem to be best for me, they are a little more ££££, but it soon pays off when you drop more with the first barrel. I usually pay around £109 for a 1000. I know some people that only ever shoot 7.5 trap loads at everything. The theory being you reduce the variation between each cart. as you get used to using only one. Cheers FAS
  5. I had similar experience using Express Pigeon 6's I now shoot Express special game 6's and also carry 5's which stop the crows more reliably, I think its the crows feather density!! Well its sounds good anyway Do people find that plastic wads give better results than fibre??:D?, I certainly think this is the case.
  6. Just had my visit from the firearms dept. at Derbyshire Constab. A week from posting it I think is pretty good. He was also very helpful with regards to applying for my FAC. Full Marks Any other experiences with Derbyshire Constab.
  7. Yes, commonly known as a poachpig, lives in the local council estate and thrives on regular lead suppliments from the local game keeper. Caught one last week near the pheasant pens on the east wood, little blighter had both barrels of my best express special game No.5's
  8. Ron You can get decoy pigeons than are made of rubber and fold up for storage. Last year I shot in romania and took some full bodied decoys with me and left them there after the shoot. It may sound expensive but I have made some really good friends and have been invited back in september. you could always sell them while your out there or trade them for something!!!! Deako has a good range of equipment, take a few business cards for deakos site and he may offer a discount  If you dont ask you dont get. Good luck and straight shooting
  9. The peace and quite is worth it!!!!!! And if you get a few shots even better...... I have taken to lying in a ditch at 7-30pm waiting for rabbits, a worthy wait and once again peace..... No phone....no kids.....no wife..... Straight shooting.................
  10. Just sent my renewal application to the derbyshire constabulary. They didn't specify any security with regards to postage, I though that a certificate had to be prevented from theft etc... The pre-printed envelope had firearms dept. written allover it!!! I sent it registered? What else could I have done!!!! The clocks ticking, lets see how long it takes them..........
  11. If you have just started out, by a cheap one first and if you get really into it go in for a pinewood. you can alway sell your cheapy on e-bay like I did. ( and made a tenner Profit!!!)
  12. Get it serviced at a gunsmith, he will tune it and if that meens a new spring he will fit one.
  13. decide on a budget and stick to it!!! If you have £200, spend it on something light and pro. If all you have is £100 then you still have a choice.
  14. Not quite right...........Its usually the wife that ****!!!!!! :(
  15. Do your reccies at different times of the day and when you know where the pigeons are roosting and what they are feeding on it prevents alot of waiting around. Don't worry I think we have all done this when we first started!!! Good luck and let us know how you get on.

    HW77k

What would be the effect of fitting an Ox spring to my HW77k?
  17. I think It will be a Lab. then. I wouldn't exspect the wife will go for spending £800 on a trained one so It may be a pup and lots of training. Thanks for the advice, if there are any other tips I should know, please post them. Happy Shooting :yp:
  18. Your spending too much time on the forum!!! Get onto broadband :yp:
  19. Snap, it was the first place I fired a shotgun and my first semi!!! I have bought all my guns from there. Perhap we could have a pigeowatch shoot there!!!! Is anyone interested, perhaps a competition clayshoot, I'm sure between us we could russel up a bunch of prizes.
  20. Crowstopper I bought a Browning Silver about 8 months ago just for pigeon shooting. I have had no trouble and it has never jammed up once. I like the way you just feed the first cartridge into the mag and it picks it up and loads it into the breach without juggling around and pressing the action release button. I paid £350 from Garlands shooting ground, when I tried it I was hooked, and when returning from the skeet range after trying it, someone from the day before had come back to buy it!! UNLUCKY!!! :yp: I would buy another Browning S/A, I wouldn't mind a 3.5 magnum for next seasons geese!!!
  21. Teal Any tips on finding a good breeder and would it be possible to get one that could be ready for flushing in time for next season?
  22. I want a dog for shooting next season, but also needs to be good with kids and not too hyperactive as to drive the wife insane!!!!! Any tips and anyone planning any litters?:yp:
  23. Well I was going to offer him some of the wifes old tights!!!!!! LETS NOT GO THERE!!!!! :yp:
  24. TOP TIP A tip handed down from father to son!!! Take a pair of tights (larger the better) with you when you shoot and put your dead bird etc.. in there. It's great at stopping fly blows. This is also good for hanging game in a store during the early part of the season when the cold hasn't killed off the fly's. Save your money and buy something useful like a new game bag!!!
