Mmmmm Recently in scotland shooting geese, left the hide after 2 hours of nothing to talk to the guys in the next hide and share a cuppa and a biscuit. I overheard a conversation at my local fishing/shooting shop, the guy was saying that the air rifle importer fixes the price and if you go cheaper you don't get to sell them in your shop anymore. I think this is a disgrace, but it happens across the whole economy, cars, holidays, food, drink......etc...... one answer is an open market and internet technology is helping, I have bought things from the USA and saved alot of money, you just need to ensure things are compatable ie...not 110v. The other things to do is boycott the big boys....Tesco, Asda etc... and shop locally. farm shops and farmers markets are one of this countries biggest growth retail sectors so somethings are changing. If you use my general rules you wont go to far wrong. 1. Use local shops, butchers, green grocers markets etc..... 2. Shop on the net and on reccomendation ie X-Box games £10 cheaper online!!! 3. Grow your own if you have the land 4. If you cant grow it, shoot it. (dont try this on X-Box games!!!) 5. Try old fashion TRADE. swap 6 rabbits for a rib of beef. RESULT!!! Got myself in the hedgerow under an old oak and a regular flightline. The frost didnt melt under its shadow and the pigeons were steady for about two and half hours. When you actually look at the labels and realise where stuff come from its scary example.... Fresh corriander from sainsburies....ISRAEL!!!!! Organic Tomatoes.........ISRAEL!!!!!! A nice organic lettuce.... have a guess........F!%*ink ISRAEL!!!! Lets boycott non british stuff and tax mass food production with its chemicals and antibiotics... FACT Almost all eggs and chicken contain traces of antibiotics and growth hormones!!!!! (no wonder we have big belllies, its them not the beer!!!) If we all hunted our meat the nation wouldn't be quiet so OBESE!!!!!

Did a recce this afternoon and there were 20-30 woodies on the rape. We had snow yesterday and a hard frost last night. Hard frost forecast for tonight so will be out at first light and try my luck.

I used to have a Lab with similar complaint, she used to chew it and became a habit. I cured it by putting elastoplasts (fabric) on until she forgot about it. Give it a try, good luck.
