They started on the peas round us some 2 weeks ago now if anything there late this year not by much but normaly gone before we have the big air show in the county

Headed out to some pea stubble even tho the skys were dark .Only a few on but setup they came in bursts but hated the rotary so just used floaters for movement . The weather was mad with it being really warm but chucking it down for 5 mins the hot sunshine then rain again . the birds kept coming in both and gave some nice shooting . Finally called it a day and picked 60 woodies and 1 feral (only 59 woodies in pic ) with 28 birds being young birds

Heading to the laid barley again later ,was going to leave till tomorrow but got some blacks to sort now. Watched about 200 pigeons hitting the spring barley yesterday evening nothing laid tho

Out of my bags this week ive had some 28 young birds and seen alot more

My patch is very quite with having no peas ,so monday morning headed out to scout more land after a brief drive around found some peas getting hit ,then found the farm .Things did not look good when the farmer came out all guns blazing but after i said i shoot pigeons he was all over me . i set up on the first field at midday and shot steady till 7pm and picked 141 . Days 2 was back at the farm and on the secound pea field birds came thick and fast but dried up around 2pm so packed in with 131 picked . day 3 back to same farm to be asked to shoot some laid barley ,was a very big area to cover but did what i could and ended with 82 picked . Day 4 i headed to a local permission and some laid barley . the shooting was hard as no big patches but still picked 67 by 10.30 . so a good few days and now i have birds everywhere on all crops lol

Got a call from a farmer asking if i was free to shoot 1 of his rape fields which has been flatterned by the wind and rain . Arrrived and could see his problem the field was flat well and truely . i also new that when it started to ripen it will give me some great shooting so i had a go just anhour and had some good sport Ended with 30 picked and 3 lost and 1 happy farmer

Lol was good mate yes your bag not so good lol Was shooting over peas ,ive 6 fields and not a pigeon in sight on them . Yes should be better soon mate going on laid barley tomorrow first time in years

Well things have not been good pigeon wise for me as of late with birds feeding on alsorts and not hitting anywhere in good numbers . But yesterday my mate called and asked me to help him out for the day . Arrived at 2pm to find him set up i set myself up with my new gear some 150 yards futher up the hedge .Put my fuds and 4 home made flappers out and had birds commiting straight away . my mate was banging away also birds became a little skitty as the afternoon went on but they have been shot every 2 days since drilling . I ended at 6pm and picked 92 birds my mate had 103 (just my birds in pic) taking amount shot on this field to over 2000 birds . Was good to get back into them
