  1. I just bought 3k of hull super fast 29 of 6. £171 per K. Ian volleys. No discount for bulk but same price as just carts.
  2. how long a battery will last depends on to many things. what motor, dead bird, hyper flap, foam wing. I have a home made , well 3 but dont use them. and i have a pinewood. the home made last 3 hours on a 7a battery where as the pinewood lasts all day and then some. I like the idea of the 9800mah batteries though. are they the blue ones with the switch on the side. what magnet you using. all the best Phil.
  3. I did a comparison a few years ago. two patterns of 12 decoys. all the same but 12 i painted with the UV paint. anyone want to buy a half pot of paint?
  4. you go to the hedge and open your pocket knife, cut a thin stick and sharpen both ends. 9" is about right. Walk back into the field and pick up dead bird. push stick in head, under the chin and push other end of stick in mud at about 45 degrees. tidy bird up. why do you need cradles, just more to carry. if your on standing crop then why use dead birds. i have noticed no difference in the way birds come in when using half shells. bamboo skewers work as well. you can get 100 for a £1
  5. 12v remotes from china, something like deal extreme. just buy 3 on the same frequency. one remote will turn all 3 on and off. cost will be less than a fiver each. you will need to buy the box for them to sit in as you get the PCP and the remote key fob. I us one on a carbon fibre pole, above the standing crop when i have a small pop hole to decoy to. it is the only time i use a flapper mind.
  6. At moment i use a lithium 12v and a 170 for searching, battery in back pocket and 170 on string. once i find rabbit or fox i open the quad sticks and let the 170 hang, switch to the T13 with the tail switch. not been a problem. its on the scope and nicely on the cross hair. there is a photo on here with it on the rifle. i can use it to search but i find using it just for the shot works well for me. I'm just making up a new one to stay on the rifles. All on either red cover on the 170 or red leds on the torches.
  7. used for the spaniels, i moved the centre divider over so i could get two dogs in the big bit and then shooting bits in the other. All cleaned out and the divider moved back to middle. It is the DB4 im lead to believe. £300 odd new. had it in a few cars and 4x4's, it is used, a few scratches but it has had dogs in it every day of the week for 4 years. the web site says: Car Make Isuzu, Subaru, Suzuki, Toyota, Vauxhall Car Model Antara 2008, Forrester 2005, Mereva 05, RAV 4 06, Rexton, Wagon R, Yaris Verson Mini MPV Dimensions w34 x d27 x h27 I have had it in shoguns and mits outlanders. If you collect the £100. If you want delivered then its a million £. Im in Gloucester area All the best Phil.
  8. I will have to find all the information. you need to be able to solder, one part is less than 1mm. you also need the use of a lathe or be able to put a LED chip onto a bigger star. The rest you just need to order from china and wait a few weeks. i was going to add a fly lead switch for the stock but when shooting off quad sticks the one hand is not used so easy enough to switch on and off. new torch will have a dimmer but will need a stock mounted 12v battery. as its from an old maglight. (Thanks to marky and lardy)
  9. Bought all the bits to made a half decent red led torch. total was about £50. Managed to get out tonight and give it a go. 100 meters off the sticks, Happy, i should say. i have another one on the bench that im plating with as i dont need a beam that throw 600 meters for sitting on the rifle. 150 clear shoot is all i need and then this one will be the search light. for now im happy.
  10. Phone farmer and ask if there was a reason for all the empty carts on the floor in the bean field and would you be out of line if you picked them all up and disposed of them. you thought you best ask first in case the was a reason and you didn't want to get in the way.
  11. 12mm neo's of ebay. the stick was Aldi special i cant use my hide sticks as pinewood push the base spike up the tube for 6". i didnt like the idea at the top. next im making a gun stand with magnets to hole gun tight in hide. just for when im pick birds. gun empty. i dont like putting on floor with two dirty dogs jumping over it.
  12. I was looking online for a way to rig the duck decoys and came across the sliding weight type. Im tight and not paying that for them. 2x £1 shop cloths line. 2oz fishing weight mold that i use to make my own fish leads. biggest snap clips that go outdoors had on the shelf. 4mm crimps off fleabay carabiner to hold them all together. I have left them hanging to straighten the lines, the green didnt upset the ducks last year so ok with that, the lead needs to age to the dulled down. 5 foot long, loop on bottom if more weight is needed on the ponds. easy to unclip the lot to put drops and mother lines on. total cost was about £8
  13. lol. I have two of those, had them years.lol. put a croc clip on the ends to hold wings open.
  14. fed up of these over prices cartridge pick up sticks so i made my own. Plus it is a good length to reach the empty cartridges. my old hike/walking stick, cut the bottom off, made a few 15mm spacers and then put 4 super strong magnets inbetween the spacers. made a metal spike for the end to hold in place. its a tight push fit so i can get them back out if need be. sits in the pigeon decoy bag nicely. will make another one with a, long, straight handle for wildfowling. ATB Phil.
  15. I have a friend that is just like si.even speak the same. I record it on Virgin tivo then sit and have a giggle for a few hours. Jas is rather funny with his dry humour and pee taking out of his brother. oh and the little bothers wife is rather bang tidy too.
  16. tell him to pay his collecting agent and then he can pay in cash when he picks the car up. but please dont make pick up to early as you are working nights and your Sargent will not be happy with you losing sleep.
  17. kids stair gate and zip tie wire to it so pups cant get though the bars.
  18. it would save a badger cull i guess
  19. Just heard on the news about cows attacking and killing one man and putting another in hospital. very sad to hear but... ...bbc interviewed two fools that had been trampled in the past and they said something must be done and the foot paths need fencing off. the cows had calfs with them, one gent was walking his dog in the field. Are people really that stupid? Sorry but this sort of thing makes me **** boil. farmers have it hard enough as it is without stupid people walking with dogs in amongst cattle. Yer sure, lets all fence the foot paths off, keep the ****** on the paths. then that will sort this right to roam out.
  20. good post, i have an old nuvi and maps are out of date so thanks to this post i have just plugged it in and received the updates, Free. happy bloke. cheers.
  21. I have a few problems with gloves in that i have long thin fingers. gloves have always been an issue. I bought a pair of mac wets a while ago, had to buy over size to try and get the finger length. anyway. from using every day for the last 5 months, from beating to shooting, i have had a couple of stitches come loose. I emailed Mac Wets just to inquire as to what can be done, i didn't expect much, thought i would get told to take them back where i bought them, that wouldn't have happened for other reasons. Bob Cheetham phoned me this morning and we had a bit of a chat. well all i can say is i am very very inpressed with the costomer service i have recieved so far from Mac Wet's I get on very very well with the gloves, i can feel the trigger on the rifles, load the semi auto, even use the touch screen on my nexus 4. I think a few more companies could do with taking a leaf out of Mac Wets book. Keep up the great work Bob and thank you for all the time you have spent dealling with this minor issue. ATB Phil.
