When is the 'right' time to enter a competition?
busdennis replied to GregR's topic in Clay Pigeon Shooting
hi Greg i entered my first registered comp last sunday, sport trap at rufforth. Been shooting really well on my local ground with good scores. finnished on 23/100 but did nt feel out of place and no negative pressure from better squad members. got a score to beat next time -
theres not going to be any big bags round here for a long time, drove for 60 miles yesterday and never saw a bird time to move down south i think

anything but the BMW mate.

im ok with a sprocker but thier no better than a cocker or springer, but why mix a spaniel and a retriever to make a springador, dont make sense, your defo not getting the best of both worlds. if its a accidential mating with lovely pups that need a good shooting/nonshooting home then no problem but to intentionally breed them dont make sense to me. the next thing being money a nicely bred cocker lets say £500 to £600 a cockapoo etc etc £700 £800 £1000, peaple must have more money than sense. these breeders should be ashamed of them selfs

jenson came to us from a rescue centre as a 2 year english springer spaniel dog, we being his 3rd home. Very soon we discovered his problems where far worse than we could ever imagine, after a local dog trainer failed we got put in contact with a gundog trainer and many of his problems we overcame Because of jenson we where introduced to a new life, we went beating, i started shooting and joined a syndicate, joined a claypigeon shooting club and a woodpigeon club. jenson change our lives 4 years later unfortunatly his problem of aggression became worse and after serveral incidents, the latest being today a very difficult decision had to be made we did and do love you jenson and hope you enjoyed your 4 years with us RIP jenson ps A few of you have met us and i write this not for sympathy but jenson deserves a little place on the internet for my small tribute

if the seller wants to sell there stuff they should put together a decent post if sellers alway posted prices and locations some other members post count would be halfed by replying with useless replys like this
-
it would be very old school to advocate force in dog training and if you dont know what force to use the answer should be none. anyway the answer will depend on the dog but should ony be a shorty sharp shock and not a way of life for your dog, if it didnt learn the first time why should it learn the 2nd 3rd 4th etc. my dog will do anything for a carrot, not the stick
