  10. Coil is an engine management light on all diesels. When this comes on it doesnt just mean your turbo is ******** could be any problem with the engine which the ecu has picked up.

  14. He might have had the cambelt done at the same time as the inlet manifold because you usually need to remove the high pressure pump to get the manifold off so you may aswell do the belt if price is no option. I wouldnt worry about the dual mass and clutch as there is a single mass conversion now 100% better and alot cheaper.

Done a few vags yes you have been informed correctly it has a dual mass flywheel. They aint cheap and neither is a clutch kit. Did one on a new shape passat and it was £800 in parts to us alone. If you want and more info fire me a PM I know a ex vag man who is very very resonably priced if you pm me il give you his number ATB

  19. TBH milage doesnt mean a thing and befor anyone jumps on me in this months mechanics mag there is a bmw that has done 1,000,000 miles and all thats it has had done is serviced at the correct intervals. Thats not huge miles for a td5 im a mechanic and run one atm with 180,000 on and it runs really well. If it has service history go for it there are bargins around if you look hard enough I paid £1500 for mine. They are good for shooting but if your after a run about that goes off road every so often Freelander all the way.
  20. Welcome im from derbyshire too. Where are you in derbyshire?
  21. Just a quick heads up guys the laws on aircon regassing is changing in july so expect to pay £70+ for a regass as it will have to go to a specialist as you need a licence to to it. So get that aircon regassed asap if you want it cheap.
  22. I have a code reader shame your not closer or I would have plugged it in and had a look at the fault codes for you. Some times what the faults come up as are totally wrong thas why it takes so long to get it right. It shouldnt take that long though. We had a s8 at work that came up as idle control sensor and it was actually an air mass meter top spec cars are even harder due to all the sensors. Hope it gets sorted for you mate.
