  1. Because I love my freelander, minimal hassle, goes where I want it too, soooo far ...never got stuck, great little motor!!! :)

I changed the cylinders, brakes shoes and drums on both sides with genuine parts...cost me £60!!!!

How many cars could you do that for that price?

it's the volume of parts required which bring down the price. good or bad :good:

  2. Well, friendly US ebayer and a package that says its a gift and we have a £188 ND3 on my desk this morning!! First thoughts are its very well made, packaging and attachments look and feel solid and it switches on so a good start!

Shining it under my desk (not attached to a rifle) the green beam looks very narrow even at its widest setting but then that is 1.5ft infront of me. Presumably its a wider beam over distance!

Planning to do a zeroing session later on tonight and hopefully will review the kit during this week for anyone thats interested!

Still want the Pulsar N550 really but wanted to try a few alternatives before I took the plunge!

over 50 yrds that narrow beam is more like 3 yards across :good:

  3. my first x-trail 112bhp di would do around 35 about the doors and 45ish on a run taking it easy

my second one 136bhp dci did just under 30 round the doors and just under 40 on a run......

i no longer have an x-trail......couldnt afford to run it... :look:

    shaun

try towing a horsebox (112bhp). 20 ish mpg on the motorway

  4. I am very good at rationalising things. Don't like heights but I can deal with them. Not keen on wasps because they can sting me. Not keen on rats because I know what disease they carry. Nothing turns me into a quivering wreck.

I use cotton wool everyday and I'm very fond of cows. Fantastic stoic creatures.

walking through a field with ozzy, start getting surrounded by cows. They start lunging forward, the keep advancing. Me to Oz, "is that a bull behind us"

    Oh ****!! :good:

  5. depends on how warm your feet our, I wear my dunlop actiforts with almost religious fervour, even through the dead of winter. But I think I'm in the minority in having feet that are never cold. I've heard alot of good words about muckboots if you have cold feet (read very warm)

however, I will never ever recommend to anyone that they buy an expensive set of wellingtons, (unless they have money to burn) because it only takes one obscured peace of barbed wire to perforate even the toughest of rubber.

buy cheap, buy often if need be
